Today I went for a “trial run” dress shopping with my best friend/MOH – even though Boyfriend or Best Friend hasn’t actually dropped the question yet. (He has the ring, I’m just playing the waiting game now.) It was supposed to be just a fun girl’s day, to figure out what styles I liked. But I found my dream dress.
We went to three stores and tried on at least 30 dresses. They all just felt like pretty, flattering white dresses, until I tried this one on. I finally felt like a bride and suddenly felt so overwhelmed with emotion! It’s everything I ever wanted in a wedding dress – including incredibly inexpensive. It’s a discontinued style, which knocked off 50%, and had been previously purchased and altered by another girl, only to be vetoed by her mother later. That knocked down the price even more, and now I’m getting this gorgeous all-over lace, all-over beading sheath cut for $300!!!!!!! I wasn’t going to buy a dress today, even if I found my dream dress, but how can I turn that down? It’s perfect. <3
Now, here are my questions!
1: Take a look at the second and third pictures – belt or no belt? It’s just a little thing but Maid/Matron of Honor and I can’t decide!
2: Apparentally the dress’s previous owner was shorter than I am. As you can see in the pictures, the hem in front stops about 2″ from the ground. I was planning on wearing flats anyway, so it’s not a big issue. I can either a) leave it the way it is, b) have 2″ scalloped lace sewn all the way around the bottom, or c) have the plain back fabric lengthened 2″ to touch the floor.
Whaddya think? 🙂
