Post a pic of the dress. You may need to resize it if it's not posting.
Whoops! It doesn't look like the picture went through. Did you try resizing it?
Beautiful dress! I don't think the lace will make you look old at all! I think you'll be able to find a half up style or down style that will work with the dress. I think a lot of times they show the dress with hair up so that you don't miss any details. Here are some images of non-strapless dresses with hair down.
As for the veil, I picture your dress with a more traditional veil, but I am 100% that you can pull off any kind of veil you want!
I dnt think the lace gives it an old look by any means what so ever. A birdcage veil would look fantastic with that dress, it would have a very romantic look to it all. I love the birdcage veils and its so hard to go wrong with them with lace
OK, first of all, lace does not equal old. I'm wearing lace and it's lovely and wonderful.
As for hair, if you don't like wearing your hair up, then don't do it for your wedding. You won't feel comfortable and you won't feel like yourself. Half up would work or maybe a side ponytail. I'm not really seeing a birdcage veil with this dress. I would vote for going with something more traditional.
Love the dress. I think I would pair it with a great sash and brooch at the waist to break it up a tad. I think that the birdcage veil would be fantastic. And just because you wear your hair up doesn't mean it can't be in your face. A deep slung side bang with a low, full chignon would be so Hollywood vintage. Good Choice!
I agree I can't really picture a birdcage with this. I think a flower in the hair or a more traditional veil would work well. If you do a veil I would stick with something simple so you don't take away from the AMAZING lace on the dress! As far as your hair. If you don't like it all up I'd go with half up or down. With this dress I picture somehting with loose flowing curls would look awesome!
I love that dress & I do not think it looks "old" at all! :)
I think you hair half up would look amazing with this dress! Something like below:

As for the veil, I am not a huge fan of birdcage veils & I am not sure how it would work with this dress, but I think your idea of a simple flower in your hair would look amazing!
Best of luck to you! :)
I think a drop veil would look so pretty with this dress and the dress style, for me, would look better with hair down. Really loose waves would look amazing!
I don't think lace will make you look old at all. I think when you tried it on you would have recognized that. That was the first thing I noticed when I tried some dresses on. If you love birdcage veils I say go for it! But if you are unsure post pics when you get the dress in different veils and we'll do a vote!
It's stunning! And I agree, I don't think lace will make you look old at all. Congrats!
I think it's gorgeous and again, I think half up and half down hair would be great and NOOOO lace does NOT equal old at all. To me, it is classy
Yay! Thank you everyone!! I think I just panicked when my mom told me that; I thought I looked not old in it, but I didn't have a second opinion from anyone-so thank you guys!
All the hair pictures were super useful--I'll be posting for help again once I get my hands on some veils (I think I just don't know enough about what different types there are)!
Gorgeous dress - love it! I'm envious.
I don't think a birdcage would suit the dress. A big flower would be lovely. If you go for a veil - I think a drop veil would be lovely.
I think that dress is gorgeous!!!! I do and don't like birdcage veils. I think they are hard. They either look awesome, or horrible!!! But I love the idea of putting a flower in your hair. (thats what i'm doing too!)
I think it's a very pretty dress! I'm wearing lace too and I'm only 28! I don't think lace makes you look older... maybe you can add a sash to make it a little bit "younger" looking?
Try a chignon. It's a great blance it's not pulled all the way up on your head but it doesn't crowd your shoulders. It's very elegant which is probably what you're going for with a lace gown. However the birdcage is more modern and the lace is more vintage. I would go with perhaps a drop veil or a mantilla. best of luck
Hair down with big loose curls and a fascinator or flower your hair will be gorgeous, young and a bit sexy!!! Love it!
I vote for hair down as well. If that's what you're used to then do it! I'm certainly not putting my hair up in a beautiful chignon just to feel uncomfortable for my special day! :) And I love your dress - post a picture of you in it!
Lovely dress. The lace is beautiful. And it won't make you look old at all! I feel romantic and warm in my lace dress!
I like your gown!!
About your hair: almost certainly you need an up-do, unless you have a very short neck.
About the veil: the birdcage one that every bride (and their dog) has right no does not it this dress. The big flower is a much better option, especially something big. If you go with a veil, don't go with the illusion one unless you want the "fluffy" look (which doesn't match a dress like this, btw, because it is flowing). The length of the veil will depend on how well you fit the dress (ideally, the veil should focus the attention on a part of your body that is narrow (such as neck, waistline, knees) or narrower than usual (if you have big hips, it should be shoulder length, for example).
That's a great dress! I'm actually looking for one just like it - who is the designer?
That dress is FREAKIN beautiful!! I absolutely LOVE it! Your hair would look nice up, YES, but you could wear it down too! I don't think that dress will make you look old at all! I think it's stunning, and fits curves very well.
Here's a bride that actually wore a lace dress that is VERY young, and VERY beautiful...and the dress up top is actually even more busy than your dress...and she wore her hair down! Gorgeous!

Yay! I found my dress! I was super hesitant about spending the money at first, but the store offered to sell me the sample (which already fits me pretty well) since I was hemming and hawing over possibly having to leave the country.
What do you guys think?! I showed it to my mom (online) and she told me she thought that lace might make me look too old. -_- which is definitely not the reaction I'm looking for--I'm 26. I still love it though...so that leads me to a bunch of other questions I have!
The model in this picture has her hair up, which I guess makes sense because it's not a strapless dress. I hate having all my hair up though because it makes my face feel naked. Do you guys think I could keep my hair down? Half up? Or would it make the neck area look too busy?
I'm leaning towards a birdcage veil, because I really like how they look--does that fit the dress though? Or should I just stick with a big flower in the hair (my other choice). Would an illusion or a netting birdcage look better?
I'm really bad at details...
Edit: You guys are super speedy! That's why I love this place!
