- Wedding: the beach
Warning: These pictures would look a lot better if my hair had been done and I had the proper bra/undergarments on.
Okay, let me start by explaining a little about myself. I have always been into fashion and had always wanted the dress to be a mermaid or fit & flare. I found one last weekend that I loved, but given certain situations from my DH getting hurt at work, I knew spending that kind of money on a dress would be selfish. Well, I decided to be a little more open minded and try on things that I had not tried on before. I spent hours looking on pre-owned dress sites, ebay, craigslist, you name it I tried it. The only one that I loved was made in china and listed on ebay… completely skeptical of that! Anyway, this morning I woke up and cancelled the appointment I had with the dress shop I knew was out of my price range then went to a few stores, eventually ending up at a specific one I had heard about earlier this week. I found 5 wedding dresses there and one BM dress. The first one that I tried on, even though it wasn’t even close to what I was looking for as well as much more simple, it made me feel giddy inside and I did not want to take it off. Every dress after that was not good enough. Here’s the crazy thing… it was the price I had in mind but doubted I would find and it fit perfect. However, even if those two factors had not matched I still would have purchased it. I love it. I think it is perfect for the ocean front beach ceremony. My girls are going to wear short white dresses, that was the plan from the start… I just never knew that I would be the one to wear a blue dress! We were going for a beach theme with modern elements and some mermaid inspired touches. I love my dress and I personally think, strangely, that the dramatic detail I was looking for is in the color of the dress.
