No I have had a great experience with them, I did use a private alterations lady though, DB was too pricey

I ordered my dress at David’s Bridal too. So far, my experience has been fine, but my dress hasn’t arrived yet, so we will see how it goes when it gets in.

I’m not sure if this is standard procedure or not, but I made sure that once my dress comes in, if the size I ordered just does not work out, I can exchange it for something else. I didn’t feel comfortable spending that much money on a dress when I had not even tried it on in the right size. I know I’ll have to get mine altered somewhat, but I don’t want to have to rely on having everything altered (therefore, more money) to make the dress work.

I did the exact same thing. I went into DB to do “research” and despite visiting several other stores, came back two days later to buy the one.

I agree with finding other alterations, but other than that, I haven’t really had any trouble with it and I can’t wait to wear my beautiful dress! 🙂

Well…  I’m probably going to say something unpopular (yet again!?) but I wouldn’t order this dress yet.  Your wedding is well over a year way and you may end up being a two-dress bride.  I’d watch the DB website to make sure it doesn’t go on clearance (meaning you may not get it) but I wouldn’t buy right now.

The only reason I asked about sale is because DB loves to try and get you to order now or it “might not be on sale again” – except they run the $99 gown / up to $300 off sale about 4 times a year.  Don’t let them talk you into it because of the sale price.

Full disclosure, I’m a DB bride (CT314 in Ivory) and my girls are in their dresses also (Lapis) – so I’m not trying to be a negative Nelly here!  My dress also dropped in price (regular price, that is) by $300 when Fall 2010 came out so I paid over a grand for a dress that you can now get on sale for about $700.

@SweetRose2011:  I understand – I just know that there are a LOT of ladies here who have bought their dresses too early and regretted it later.

AND I completely agree about not having the dress altered at David’s.  They are outrageously priced.

I would only caution because your style might change.  Pretty dress though.

It’s a lovely dress and I have absolutely nothing against David’s Bridal, but I’d suggest you wait as well.  They have “sales” 4 or more times a year so don’t think this is once in a lifetime or something.  Since your wedding is still quite a ways away you could totally change your mind (we see posts on here almost daily about dress regret – you don’t want to be one of those posters!).
