yay!!!!!!!!!! did the receipt say what it was? or was it just a credit card slip?
Yay! Something similar happened to me- I found a piece of paper on the dresser that said "Name of Jewelry Store, Tues 11am".
Whatever you do- NEVER let on that you found it. I kept my mouth shut for a while, but long after he proposed, I mentioned that I had found that piece of paper. He was pretty upset that he didn't pull off a surprise. So save your future FI some disappointment and NEVER tell him!!

i agree too about not letting him know ever! my bf asked my friend to help him shop and she told me and i NEVER plan on telling him. She had a good reason for doing it... but he would be really disapointed. I think he'll be happier if he thinks I had no idea :)

Thanks Ladies. The receipt says "engagement ring"!! I looked at it but I didnt look at it. I still want it to be somewhat of a surprise so I didnt bother looking at the details. We've done quite a bit of ring shopping so I am sure I will love it. Yayyy!!! I am super excited! I will try not to let on my findings.
oh my gosh you have so much will power!! I don't want to know what my ring looks like either (I know my friend knows and I know if I bugged her enough I could prob get a pic of it bc she has one).. but I don't know if I could have that receipt IN MY HANDS and not pour over every little detail!

The same thing happened to a friend of mine she found the reciept in August for a ring and didn't get her ring till New Years Eve. But by then her guy had exchanged the ring and got one that he thought was even more perfect, so the ring reciept she found wasn't even the ring she got.. LOL. But she asked him about it afterward and he was pretty upset that she knew it was coming and ruined the surprise factor.

this same thing happened to me and i never plan on telling him. i have thought about it because i feel kind of guilty, but then i realized that it would be selfish. i would feel better but he would be upset that he didn't pull of the surprise that he thinks he did!! don't tell him!!
I would hope that I wouldn't find the receipt... or at least if I did, it was a plant.
Then again, I imagine if my bf were buying a ring and getting ready for the aftermath, he'd probably be sweating bullets and flipping out like mad.

How awesome! My bf says I will have no idea when it's coming... and last we talked he said he still wasn't ready yet-- so if I found a reciept anytime soon I would be over the moon!
Congratulations! I kind of knew he had bought a ring, but didn't. I let him believe that it was a complete surprise. He was happy.

When we went on Vacation in June, while we were visiting my sis, she let it slip he had the ring 2 days before he proposed (not that I didn't already suspect!) and I have never told him. .lol
oh my! how exciting! I can't believe you didn't read every little detail on that receipt and then flip the house upside-down searching for the real thing! haha...I dont think I would have the ability to control myself!!
how exciting!!!!! I had no clue when FI bought the ring. And after we got engaged, I found out that the ring had been sitting under my nose for 3 WHOLE WEEKS!!! HAHAHAAH

While looking through papers in the room, I ran across the receipt for my ring! OMG... Wow, it is really happening and soon ( I hope). I have a feeling that it will be at least 2 more months but I can now relax and enjoy!
