@eocenia:  that’s great!  So happy you found it.

When I was little, I used to wear a ring that my granfather gave me, it had my initial engraved on it.  I was only allowed to wear it to church and on special occasions (it’s a very soft gold).  One day comeing home from church (I was about 6) we realized I wasn’t wearing it, couldn’t find it anywhere, we made signs and put them up, nothing.  Then several weeks later, I was getting my little purse out to go to a party and we disvocered that the ring had gotten wedged in the seaming in the bottom of the purse.  I was a very happy girl (My parents hadn’t been too happy with me)

@eocenia: Well, I’m glad you found the rings! I wish I had a piece of my Abuela’s jewelry. They buried it all with her though.

I let my FI have my class ring when we were still dating because I graduated two years before him and I wanted him to have it to wear on a necklace or something so other girls would know to leave him alone while I was in college (ahahaha).  Anyway, I asked for it back after he graduated and he told me, shamefully, that he had lost it.  That his sisters kept playing with it and they must have lost it.  I was devistated because I never really got to enjoy my class ring!  Fastforward 4years and my FI’s family’s dryer breaks.  So his dad is taking it apart trying to fix it, and what do they find in there?  My class ring!  I know it’s silly so be so happy about that but I cried a little when he gave it back to me.

My grandmother’s high school class ring from 1933. It got misplaced when she moved in with us (Alzheimer’s, she didn’t remember where she put it), Then about 10 years later mom was cleaning and found it wedged in a corner. Grandma had died a few months earlier, so that made it all the more special.

When I was a teenager, my mom let me wear the promise ring my dad gave her in high school.

I lost it one day and cried and cried.  We found it about 5 years later when we were moving to a new house.  It had fallen in the crack between her jewelry box and the wall.  I was insanely relieved!
