Just wanted to share what happened on my lunch hour 🙂 I went to WalMart to pick up a few things (Healthy Choice frozen lunches) to get me through the week. I walked over to the purses and handbags which are right near the jewelry counter, and I glanced over to see this man who appeared to be in his early 30’s staring at the engagement rings in the display case. The sales lady walked over from behind the counter and asked him if she could show him anything, and he said nervously “No, uh, I just thought that…. um… well maybe, but I’m not sure.” The poor guy had beads of sweat around the top of his forehead, and he was wringing his hands while shifting weight from one leg to the other. The sales lady went back to doing whatever she was doing on the other side of the counter.
I left to go to the frozen foods section to pick up my lunches. I then decided that I really did want a freaking scarf so I headed back over to the purses/handbags/scarfs area and this poor guy was STILL THERE. He was staring at the rings so intently that I thought that either his eyes were going to pop out of his head or he was going to pass out, one or the other. He glanced over at me, looked back down at the rings again, turned around and walked 5 feet away, turned back around and walked back up to the rings again.
I couldn’t remain silent. I walked past him, paused for a second, leaned over towards him and quietly said “She will say yes…” At that very moment I could see all of the tension leave him. He exhaled deeply and said “You really think so???!!!” and I said “Of course I do! And you do too, which is why you are here in the first place I guarantee it.” He thanked me, stood a little bit taller, and with a confident voice he asked the sales lady to show him this beautiful white gold halo princess cut diamond ring. I quietly walked away with a big smile on my face 🙂

I just hope they’ve discussed marriage already and are on the same page. DH and I took a carriage ride on our first wedding anniversary where the driver told us about a couple he’d had once on his tour where the guy proposed and the girl said no. He got really upset, wouldn’t let her get in the car afterward, and ditched her in St. Augustine.
I hope the lady who gets offered that ring is thrilled and does accept his proposal.

Thank you all 🙂 He was sooo easy to read, poor guy, lol! I knew his mind was racing a million miles a minute. He seemed so scared and anxious at the same time.
Now I wonder if he ended up buying a ring. And if he did I can tell you this: He’ll be one of those super fidgety, anxious, nervous and scared types right before he proposes 😀
