WE did stuff at Stapes printing. It was surprisingly cheap, and possibly cheaper than printing at home due to cost of ink (It depends what ws being printed and what was being cut)
I was thinking about DIY invitations, but I'm not a crafty person or a very patient person when it comes to small details and making sure things look perfect. I decided to nix that and just buy them online. It's much less work and stress for me, plus they are cheap at Vistaprint.
@lefeymw: Luckily the only thing they will have to do is get it to align correctly. No cutting, no nothing.
Plus for my invite, no cutting either. Just will probably need to align it right and then print it. I bought some box invites from Micheals. Everything is precut.
@Bichon Frise: Tell me about it. Im using more ink and money trying to get it right, then what it will probably cost me to get it printed professionally.
Don't know if you have a college in your area, but I was able to get all of our printing done through the Media Services Dept and is was SUPER cheap! Actually cost me less than printing them myself.
We still do all of our printing through them for our Non-Profit.
Office depot was about 4x the amount of the college. *just a thought*
=)
@amnystik: Media Services Department? Wow, never would have thought of that. I live in Milwaukee,WI so I have lots of colleges in the area. Lets see, Marquette, MATC,Mount Mary College,Stanford Brown, Alverno college,Cardnial Stritch University, what the heck is that other one called?? Oh well, I will research it and find out which ones have that kind of department. There are lots in the area.
So u liked the printing they did and all that?? Cool. Will check it out. Thanks for the tip.
@Earlybride: That's what the dept is called here. It's whatever does their in-house printing for flyers and posters and such.
Yes, I was very happy with them! I've done 3 formal invitation sets, all of the paper products for our wedding, and still use them for our flyers.
I've used their paper & taken in my own... They had WAY more options than Office Depot, which is another reason I liked them.
I could set up whatever "invite" I had on their tabloid sheets so I could fit 4-5 a sheet and that saved even more $$. =)
@amnystik: Okay. I called Marquette. The lady had no idea what I was talking about. lol And its a huge collge, so they have to have one, Im sure.
But Im not giving up. Im gonna call later and phrase it the way u said it.
Their in-house printing for flyers and posters and such.
@Earlybride: Lol.. you could also try through the art department or even drama.. since I'm sure they do campus posters for their plays/shows. =)

Bees, my STDs are done and they look beautiful, however I ran into a problem. Trying to align the magnets for printing.
Everything I tried wouldnt work. So I GIVE UP! I called Office Max and asked them if I could bring the magnets and the STD on my flashdrive,if they could print it for me. She said yes as long as the magnets are meant to be printed on, which they are. I told her the STD look GREAT but I CANNOT get them to align right.
So bees, last night I was working on them for hours and used up alot of ink trying to figure it out. I was ready to throw my printer out the window.
So, to save myself the aggrevation I am giving the responsibility of printing them to the professionals. I dont care about the money at this point. :)
Oh and I will type out my invites too at home and am seriously thinking of having the professional printers do those too! I dont want to botch those up!
I might be using more money but at least Im keeping my sanity. And not wasting ink anymore!
Any other bee gave up on a diy project to save your sanity? It feels like the weight of the world(wedding) is off my shoulders now. :)
