i ran into a lady i had met a while back that runs a wedding planning company here in phoenix and i expressed to her that i would love to work as a wedding planner even if it was just to intern for the summer. she told me to come to her office today and there were 3 other girls there
we all got hired in non paying internships but hey its a job and it will get me experiance in the industry to get going!! yay!!!

How exciting! Congratulations! I think sometimes a foot in the door is even more exciting than money (though that isn’t bad). Hurray for connections and gaining experience!

@cr6zy: congrats! that is great. I cannot express how important internships are. My internship was the start on my successful career. If it was not for that internship I KNOW I would not having such a great job that I do now with a very promising future 😉

That’s so great!!!! I’m ALL for interships and apprenticeships. It gets you in the field and connected with the people that one day will be great resources for you!
Get everything you can out of it and remember.. don’t complain. EVERYbit of what you have to do WILL teach you how to do/handle something down the line!
*excited for you*

ya every company i talked to wanted 6 + months experiance. but no ones willing to let me get the experiance! i looked into schools and they wanted 800 bucks and up but why would i pay that if i wasnt 110% sure its what i wanted to do? im so happy she is giving me a chance and training me. im a stay at home mom already so money wasnt the issure but i know once im finished with my internship and get a full time position it will pay off nicely.
i already decided if i love the job once i get to work weddings then i will sdave a few checks and enroll in a program at a college to help me get ahead but i need to know i love the job before i shell out a ton for schooling.
