Oh gosh, I really like it half up, but I also love it all up! I'm no help!!! But you can't go wrong either way!
...let me add that I will be wearing a veil...I don't know if that will influence the comments any.
@crebre...I like it too...I looked at the picture and was like...ok...it's just a ponytail with the hair pinned loosely. I thought a more "severe" bun would look odd with the type of dress I have.
@jennifer...I like that one too...and it only took a few hairpins which I love...I am so indecisive
@honeybun....you sound like me =)
Yes, adding the veil changes my comment. Initially I thought all up. It might be a little warm in Jamaica (well, maybe not too warm, it's cooler now). However, since you're wearing a veil, I think it will look best with it up in the front and down in the back. Depending on the weather, both looks are nice. If it's too hot, wear it all up. If it's cool, half up and half down. I love the micros.
I like it half up the best. But I agree that if it is too hot I would just wear it all up because that looks great too!
@91011 & Tulip....that's a good strategy..decide the day of. Especially since I don't even know the time of the ceremony.
I agree that half up looks best. Be careful with that veil in the wind on the beach. Make sure it's secure and don't be afraid to lose it if the wind starts to pick up!
With the veil, I really like half-up, half-down! I like the look of the bun, but it might make the veil poof out kinda funny. Did that make any sense?!?
I love it down! But since you're getting married on the beach and wearing a veil, I like th half up best!
I loved the #3 pic. I think you should try the last style, with it all up, lower and a little off to the side too. Know what I mean?
i think i'm in the minority because i really don't care for hair being down when brides are walking down the aisle (now with the reception, go for it!!) it's some strange phobia type dumb thing I have. lol so if you notice you'll never see me vote for half up (unless it's the ONLY option)... i just think updos are so polished and elegant for brides... sigh.. .with that said, i still like number 3 best :P
@mandalee....I was actually kicking that style around as well. I have a style like that in my inspiration folder.
So now I will chime in and say that my favorite hairdo is all up...primarily b/c I am wearing chandelier earrings and I think that will be more "blingy" if my hair was up. At the same time...I want a less structured hairdo..something like number 3 as opposed to a tight bun since we are talking beach and Jamaica.
As a side note...I plan to ditch the veil and wear it all down for some photos I want to take playing in the surf (like the bohemian goddess I am at heart
). That will be after our reception for 3 =)
Thanks ladies...I love all of the input you guys gave me....12 more days!!
You look so happy! I love all of them, but that's just me! Definitely adore the loose bun look though! How exciting for you...what a fun time. :)
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 12 DAYS?! omg i'd be on pins and needles not able to concentrate ESPECIALLY because he has total control and everything is a complete secret!! i'm sooo happy for you btw and cannot wait to see your bling!!
@firemanslady...you should have seen me in my downstairs bathroom with bobby pins everywhere...LOL! I was like hmmmm...what to try next
@crebre...I am knee deep in doing end of the year reviews for my team PLUS I have a report that's due before 10 in the morning. I am finding time for the bee but the closer it gets, the calmer I get. Having my hair braided was the last major thing on the list so other than packing...which I will start on this weekend, I am just coasting until it's time to go. I am excited about seeing everything but I am no longer driving myself crazy. My FIs best friend is actually flying to Jamaica on the 18th to handle any last minute things before we arrive on the 20th. I just feel happy and blessed to be so close to marrying my soulmate.
...but I do need to find a nice piece of blue cardstock to print my vows on since I am not even attempting to memorize them
For cardstock, go to Michael's definitely... and what a relaxingly awesome feeling?! i cannot wait to feel that way. Right now I feel anxious nervous and a bit sick to my stomach with all the waiting. And I'm nervous as all get out because I have a huge show on the 21st of February and am afraid I'll get booked for my own special day if he hasn't asked. The longer he waits the more of a chance I won't be able to get a great date or a great venue because I'm helping clients, etc. Sigh....
I love the one with the flowers; it's so feminine (not just the flowers, but the way your hair is pulled back and cascades out). Love it!
I love the one with your hair up. I think they both look lovely though!
Good Luck for your big day!
@crebre...I am sure it will come when you least expect it. I am SUCH a planner and this whole thing has been a huge lesson in patience for me. It's 9 days away and I am totally excited now that I know the date...December 22nd.
@his barista...my SIL picked that style too. She says that it goes with the "flowy" style of my dress better
@daydream...thanks...I am really thinking of a way to get some pics with ALL of the styles =)
@simpleandchic...thanks!! The countdown has officially began. It's time to start packing for next Sunday =)
I like pics 3 & 4, they look cute down too. Wow next Sunday??!! Yay, how exciting!!!
Happy packing soon to be Mrs.
I like the half-up the best...what did you end up deciding?
I hope you had an amazing trip!
Another vote for half-up, but that is a really tuff call. I really like all down too!!!
Both styles are beautiful. I love the second to last picture, but I love the half up style even better. That little twist looks so pretty.
pretty... love me some micros - I wore them for abt three years straight a few yrs ago..
Thank you for showing your micros. I think I am going to get micros as well. My wedding is in July and I get extremely hot very fast...so I think that is the best option for me.
I love the last picture without the veil, but the first picture is nice too. I would def. wear it down for the reception. I love wearing braids. Congrats!

So...I had a poll to decide on which style afro, kinky twists, or micro braids. So...after you guys input...and consulting with mama JamaicaBride....I decided on micros. I tried a couple of styles today and I won't say which style I am leaning toward but I wanted to get you guys opinion.
As a recap: DW to Jamaica, flowy dress, chanedlier earrings.....ready, set, GO!!
