How is your FI covering up his old one?
He has a dead calvary scout on his back, so he's going to get calvary charge silhouette behind them, on both sides, to cover it, without making it look like a coverup.
BTW he's a retired army scout, thus all the military inspired tattoos :)
FI hasnt picked his wedding tattoo yet but Im having a claddagh added into my full back when we get married. Only problem is our favorite tattoo artist is 1300km away.

So FI and I decided to get tattoos before our wedding, mine so I could show it off with my dress, and his because he has his ex-wife's name (soon to be covered up) on his back, and wanted something for me on our big day.
So we got our monogram, SPR. For him its on his left forearm. (It was his fourth tattoo):
And I got mine (my first) on my left shoulder blade:
