I would recommend lining them. It makes them so pretty and it works wonders when your envelopes are too thin!
DEFINITELY an envelope liner!! Super easy, super cheap, adds that extra-special touch and gets rid of any see-through on your envelope!!
Either that or look for an envelope in the Carnival, Smart Papers, or Mohawk line that's a bright color. They are a good quality envelope but anything that's light in color you will probably see through.
Crane sells a 7x7" envelope in their Lettra line. I haven't tried these personally, but since they're made for letterpress I'd assume they're thicker than normal envelopes - maybe you could email them and ask?
Papersource has envelopes in a ton of colors and sizes that might do the trick. Any of the bright or dark colors would conceal what's inside!
I would recommend an envelope liner as well. YOu'll have to to get the full size to avoid the see-through. Otherwise, I made envelopes for my shower invitations with a thick cardstock I got from Michael's on sale. You can find the templates online. (or buy them from paper-source
Envelope liners are super easy and inexpensive! I think there your best option! GOOD LUCK ;)
Lining them would be your cheapest option--and would inject some more of your wedding designs in there. I'm printing my own liner paper from the design I made on my invites, and it just makes the design seem more cohesive!

I've been working on designing my invitations for a while thinking that I had found the perfect envelopes. Well, turns out that even with an inner and outer envelope my 80 lb text linen envelopes are still too thin and you can see my invite through both. I can't stand it! I have searched for countless hours to find an envelope that is not see through with no luck. And of course my invites take 7x7 square envelopes...ugh.
What are my options here? Black envelopes seem weird...if I can even find them in my sizes. Lining each envelope by hand doesnt sound like loads of fun either..
Will I have to scrap all my plans and start over?
Does anyone know where I can get super thick...like cardstock or letterpress thick...envelopes a la carte?
