Weddingbee boards

The boy proposed today!!! I knew he was looking at rings, but I had NO idea he had already gotten it and was even MORE surprised by how quickly he moved! We've only been dating 7.5 months. Here's the story....

Since school is starting back (I'm a Special Ed teacher) he wanted to take me on a camping trip this weekend before things get too stressful at school. We camped last night -it poured down rain and was quite miserable. Then this morning set off to hang out in some cute mountain towns today. I was not suspecting a THING! We hung out all morning, then he wanted to drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We've been talking about doing this forever, so again, I suspected nothing. We stopped at one of the little parks, walked around for a little bit, then he said he wanted to check out some of the overlooks. So we stop at the next one up the road. All of a sudden he gets all crazy about wanting to take his backpack. This is when I start to think something might be up, but don't want to get my hopes up. The first overlook and the 2nd were a total bust. The trails were not maintained at ALL. Then we stopped at a 3rd and hiked up to where you can see out over the mountains. Well, you're supposed to be able to see out over the mountains anyway. We were IN a cloud, so all you could see was fog. 

So we're sitting up on the rock waiting for the clouds to clear out and he starts rummaging through his bag. About a month ago he told me he was buying me a surprise but that I had to wait to get it. He says, "This is very special, so I need you to stand up to get it." Now I'm thinking "This is it!!" Then he pulls out a jewelry box... but it's too big for a ring. So I'm like, "Ok, it's not the ring. But it's still something shiny! That's cool!" He goes on to tell me about how he got his mom's diamond from her engagement ring set into a necklace for me and how he wanted to give it to someone special. I start crying and hugging him at this point because I know how much that diamond means to him (his mom died when he was 4). He asked me to turn around so he could put it on me. Then, as I'm turning back around he starts talking about his dad gave his mom that diamond the day he asked her to marry him, and he wanted to give it to me on the day he asked me to marry him. As he's saying this he's getting on one knee and opening up a ring box. At this point, I have no idea what he said all I know is I said "OF COURSE!!!!" and hug him like a crazy person. 

So I'm ENGAGED! I don't think it's really set in yet... But I am SO excited to be marrying him! Yay!! The ring is PERFECT! It's exactly what I wanted. Thank goodness he employed the help of my bestfriend! haha 

I forgot to add the picture of the necklace. I love it just as much as the ring!

Awwww....CONGRATS, so happy for you...beautiful proposal, ring and necklace!!

Another graduate! Congratulations. The ring is awesome but how special is that necklace?? It could be an awesome heirloom to pass down through generations!

Thanks everybody! I woke up this morning and thought, "Was that a dream?" and then I saw my ring and new it was for real! I'm so happy!

Thanks again everybody! I still can't get over how QUICKLY he moved! And by the way, he's totally going to have this whole wedding planned before I do.... He cannot stop talking about ideas. It's too cute.
