I haven’t had a baby yet but being pregnant makes me feel like that! If I can create human life then nothing can stop me!!

Right now (being on the other side of that) it’s the opposite for me: “I’ve never done anything remotely CLOSE to this, CAN I DO THIS??”

I can’t wait til it’s over and I can have your perspective!

Yes, I totally feel like that.  I had always wanted to get my ears pierced but was too afraid.  Abour a month after my son was born I just went and had it done.  I remember thinking that it couldn’t be nearly as bad as childbirth…and of course, it wasn’t.   I’ve compared everything I’ve had done medically since then to that…surgeries, chemo, tooth extractions…  I can now get an IV or have blood drawn, watch the needle go in, and never flinch.  It’s just no longer a big deal after a 16-hour labor with forceps.

I definitely feel the same way as Mighty. Once the baby comes and I start doing things, I am hoping my confidence will rise and feel like I can do anything. Right now, I am nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time. All I hope for right now, is that the baby waits until at least week 37 to make her way to the world.

Haha I thought this thread was going to be about obnoxious Moms bringing babies to bars and asking patrons to be quiet while they napped or something.

I don’t have any babies, but every time I go through something painful I have a higher threshold for pain/uncomfort. I was on accutane for 6 months and had to get a blood test every 30 days, that definitely changed me. Before I would be so nervous I’d knock the needle out of the nurse’s arm and now I’m just like “Where do you want to stick it?”

I also think women have a much higher threshold for pain than men.

Because I hear all these birth horror stories and I know that it’s the most painful thing that women have ever gone through, and yet I’m about to go through it.  Yikes!  So yeah, it will be empowering when I’m done, but I’m not even there and still have to walk through that fire!
