@Waitingbee57:  have bought my dress, personally I’m not a fan of taffeta either – tried a couple on and they weren’t for me.  I did love how light the fabric is.  I was just already in love with another dress (Which is crinkle chiffon).  My dress isn’t for everyone, and didn’t get a lot of love on the bee when I was asking for help narrowing down my choices.  I know people will say not nice things about my dress but I don’t care because it’s MY dress and I love it.

You should look at it the same way.  Some people are jerks and have no filter (I can be that person…not intentionally, but I have a habit of saying things that come out wrong).  As long as you love your dress, screw everyone else 🙂

Did you have a taffeta gown? Did people say anything about it? Doesn’t matter

Did you have any problems with the material on the big day? Doesn’t matter

If you havent bought a dress would you buy a taffeta dress? Doesn’t matter

Wear the dress YOU WANT and ignore other people’s opinions and comments. Period. Everyone has something to say about everything in life. Especially when it comes to weddings, and babies.

Maybe the person is just a fabric snob? I know I am, so I feel very similar about taffeta. But some people feel that way about lace or tulle, so I think you should let it go.

I like taffeta.  Didn’t end up with a taffeta dress, but I like how light it is.

Anyway, haters gonna hate.  Don’t let it get to you too much because I’m sure you look amazing in it.  I have learned that with wedding dresses in particular, people will find and make the pettiest comments about it.  I’ve received just as many weird comments on mine.

Everyone is going to comment about everything on your day. I wouldn’t stress. As long as YOU love it, thats all that matters

I don’t mean to be dismissive, but seriously, ignore this sh*t.  Everyone will have an opinion on something wedding-related, and it will make you crazy if you start to second guess things based on other people’s random opinions.  This is how stressed-out bridezillas form.

Your fiance will love it because you will be inside of it.  That, and the fact that you love it, is all that matters.

Bitches be crazy.

You love it right? That’s all that matters. Your fiance is not going to have a CLUE what kind of fabric it is on your wedding day. Guys don’t notice that stuff..it’s not even roughly on their radar.

I tried on a taffetta dress but I didn’t love the way the fabric looked on me. I didn’t like the feel of it personally because I am more a chiffon girl. That being said, one of my friends got married and wore a BEAUTIFUL taffetta dress at her wedding and I just about died it was so perfect for her, her body shape and she just glowed in it.

@Waitingbee57:  I’m not a taffeta fan either. However if someone showed me their dress, even one they were only considering, i would say its beautiful! So I do think that was rude of her.

I showed a dress to a coworker yesterday, (Anna Campbell Amity dress) and she told me it was “bland and I could find something better”.. uhh what? http://www.annacampbell.com.au/amity-dress/4579429550

I’ve been looking at this dress, and this designer since before I got engaged. I was really annoyed by her comment.

@Waitingbee57:  what the FUCK is wrong with people! So rude. Don’t even show anyone else your dress then you don’t have to listen to their thoughtless comments.

It is even more dumb because parachutes were traditionally made out of silk.

@Waitingbee57:  I HATE tafetta, and wound up with a tafetta dress (surprise!). All I heard all day was “You can make so many Chirstening gowns out of it!” (It was also an ENORMOUS ballgown). Yes, nothing I wanted to hear on my wedding day quite like “You should cut up your dress into small pieces!”

Orrrrr…. NO.Will NOT be doing that!

Nobody wants to hear a negative comment about something so important to them. I would be hurt too! It’s okay, I’m sure your wedding dress looks just fine.
