wow.  so you replaced two girls because they weren’t enthusiastic enough?

Besides being busy in their own lives what did they do to be replaced? I’m asking because a lot of times we forgot that not everyone is that interested in our own wedding as we are, maybe you were overwhelming them wedding talk and they needed a break?

I’m sorry that they stopped contacting you. I don’t really think you need to tell them that they’ve been replaced, you’ve already told them that you want them to step down. Frankly, if my friend told me that she wouldn’t hear back from me either.

I’m sorry, but to me what you did is no better (actually I see it as far more rude) than what they’re doing. I don’t understand the whole replacing bridesmaids because they’re not living up to your expectations (did you even tell them what you expected of them when you asked them to be in your weding?). If you really felt you needed to do this, you absolutely should have found a way to do it over the phone or in person.

I know that might sound harsh, but my guess is you could loose these friends because of this.

for me, friendship is a 2 way street  – in the months you havent heard from them did you contact them to talk about them/their lives?

@Jennyemm:  have you tried going over to their houses?

The girls I have chosen to stand by me on my wedding day are freinds I could go YEARS without seeing, and months without talking, and we’d pick up right where we left off.  I feel like that’s the way it should be when you choose a bridesmaid/MOH.

I still don’t think the lack of communication on their part is reason enough to replace them. If they were good enough friends to be in your wedding party then you should still want them in your life and kicking them out signals that you don’t think they’re good enough anymore.

@Jennyemm:  so if you stopped talking to them months ago, they must not have bridesmaid dresses, right?  since your wedding isn’t until september?  sounds like that works itself out.
