Can you guys please send me pics of your dress if you added sleeves? I have really fat arms and I hate them, I want to add sleeves to my dress but I can’t figure out how to do it? I am thinking even a cap sleeve would make me more comfortable. Any ideas would be appreciated.. Thanks.

A lot of the time, I feel like straps or sleeves put more attention on your arms. Have you tried on a similar dress with the kind of sleeve you want?

I agree with PP. Talk to a steamstress and other people that you trust. Sometimes an added sleave brings more attention to them than just leaving the dress be would have.

I hate my arms as well and cap sleeves did nothing for them. I would recommend leaving it strapless unless you do full sleeves. Here is a picture of my arms for reference.

You can always go with a lovely lace shrug or something, they make some that cover your arms but not the front of your dress!

I had my dress made with sleeves, because I like the look of them and it went with the look I was trying to achieve.
Here are some photos…
Hope this helps!

@laulou121: That dress is gorgeousssss!!!!! I think a lace shrug would look great with it. You’ll get the coverage, but you don’t have to worry about making permanent changes to your dress. And if you feel like taking it off — now you get two wedding looks!

This is the shrug I’ll be getting for my dress : [in white not black]
I really loved THIS shrug, but the wide edging won’t look right with my dress, it may however, be great for your dress!

No one will notice your arms. Instead of covering up things it’s always best to find way to take peoples attention from it. Your dress has so much going on that I think sleeves would be overkill. If you truly feel better with sleeves then you should have sleeves because you deserve to know that you are looking your best.

the dress is beautiful….sleeves would definitely take away from how pretty the dress is…

I keep posting this picture (it’s Vera Wang’s Emmeline dress) but I really love the way the tulle sleeves look here. I feel sleeves can be quite hit-and-miss, they can draw more attention to your arms and can also add bulk to the overall look. That’s why I love these soft tulle sleeves, they give just a little bit of coverage without overwhelming the rest of the dress.

Another vote for a lace shrug here!
In My Humble Opinion they look really cute and draw the focus to your boobs and face more than strapless does.
Plus you can take it off later if you get too hot/drunk to care what your arms look like.
This Etsy seller has lots of them. You’d obviously have to coordinate with the lace on your dress, but I think you should be able to do that.
