im a plus size girl and went dress shopping. the consultant made me feel like 7 months was too short notice and i needed to order then. soooo i settled for a dress. since all the dresses i wanted didnt have samples in an 18. well my dress came in in 4 weeks.WTH why did they rush me and now i have a dress that i dont love :/ so now im down to 6 months to find a new dress and dont have any money to buy it with. sorry for the vent just frustrated.

Try and see if you can sell it and then buy a new dress with that money.
Would you consider buying a dress that's been worn. I know there are websites out there and they sell the dresses for a lot less.

No, its a pretty dress and is very flattering on you. I am not in love with the pick up on your right side. I think if that were let down it would give you the more a frame look. The top on the dress is stunning. The sweetheart neckline and the beading is beautiful.
Awww, I'm sorry you're not loving the dress! I think it makes your curves look great-- in the top pic, you can really see how it nips in right at the waist and gives you a very pretty hourglass look. The bustline looks very pretty and flattering as well. What is it exactly you don't like about the dress and the way it fits you? Are the problems you don't like something that a seamstress can fix?
I agree, the part on you right would look better down. I think it's a nice dress but if you don't love it, don't wear it! There's still time to find a dress that feels right, don't worry!
i think the top looks great on you - very flattering actually - especially with the sweetheart neckline.
the bottom - the pickup is asymmetrical - so if that matters to you its distracting. (i have OCD though so it might just annoy me) but i think the dress looks good on you though!!!
omg girl I tried that dress on and fell inlove with it! You look amazingly beautiful in it!
I think you look good too -- you have nice curves. It seems the dress isn't fitted properly to your figure. Having it tailored through your waist might help. Sorry you got talked into buying a dress you don't love. You still have time to figure out another plan if you really can't make peace with this dress.
i think your dress is beautiful looks good on you.. what exactly do you not like about it? maybe you can meet with a tailor and have it changed up a bit
I really don't like the bottom on that dress. Especially from the side. The front is nice and it does give you a great small waist but that bottom really really bugs me. I would start looking for another one and post the old on in the Classifieds and on craigslist.
i think the part on the side needs to be taken down.....is that possible? if so that is my suggestion. I really think the dress is beautiful but to be honest i dont like the thing on the side. I think the dress is flattering and you look gorgeous and amazing. if you dont like the dress just bc you think it is not flattering you are crazying b.c you look amazing :)

thanks ladies. i like this dress i just think i could look better. i liked the bottom at first now i think its too much. i dont think i could take the side down because it would still be shorter on that side. im going to go to a few shops and see what i can find because i really want to LOVE my dress and i like this one just leave me wanting something else. thanks!
IF you don't LOVE it then try to sell it and find something else. DO you have the money to buy something else even if this dress doesn't sell?
sharoonbear my suggestions would be:
*letting the pintucks on the left side out so that side is closer to the ground it may not still hit the ground but it be closer.
*instead of having 3 pick ups on the right see if they can change it to one of some sort (there was a pnina tornai gown on say yes to the dress the other night that had a great pick up on one side to show off the detail of the fabric underneath. i think something similar to that would be great for this gown. and the asymetrical look would be wonderful on you!
this is the best i could find but there is a gown that is similar to yours that is exactly what i am thinking i just cannot find it. and have the pick up be further over on your side.
*the sweat heart neckline is stunning on you! but it needs to be taken in. i think once that happens you will be going WOW! my girls look fabulous!
I think it might hit the floor when you take it down, since the left side does. Having said that, if you want a new dress, you should definitely see what you can find before giving up.
Try David's. My plus size friends have had really good luck there, sometimes even off the rack!

Could you have the dress altered to be more your style? Change the neckline or hemline or detailing, add straps, etc.?
Or if it is the dress in general that you don't like could you sell it on a website (maybe preowned wedding dresses) or ebay, and then take the money and find a new one?
6 months should be plenty of time! Especially if you go to a place that sells dresses off the rack or as samples...then you can have it right away!
Whatever you decide, I hope you will find a solution that makes you happy!
I do think it's a pretty dress if that is any consolation to you. You look lovely in it. Like the other posters said, perhaps you could sell it and use that money to purchase another. Good luck and hugz.

I don't know what you see but I think you look amazing. On the other hand do what you need to do to feel beautiful on your wedding day.
I think it's a lovely dress and it does give a very pretty silhouette! You have fabulous curves in it!
Maybe the consultant didn't make you feel confident about it and rushed you, but I think you look absolutely amazing!

But this day is about you so if you don't feel comfortable then do some more shopping, but I really do think you look amazing!
Instead of splurging on a new dress, take it to a good seamstress and she what she can do to make it fit more your style.
I honestly think you look absolutely beautiful and couldnt imagine a better looking bride! I think you are a little put off by the sales person and the overwhelming sales pitch. I am sure with the right shoes and hairstyle, you will feel as gorgeous as you look.
You're going to look great. The bees have given you some excellent advice. I think the pck-ups need to be let down as well. The dress is beautiful. Especially the top. Gorgeous!
The most important thing is that YOU feel gorgeous!!!! Put it on here and try to sell it then go look for another dress....if you think a seamstress can help....hey,,,,thats another option....I love the dress but its you thats wearing it!!! Good luck sweetie!!!
Aww sweetie, honestly your dress in gorgeous, but if you're not happy then get another. 6 months is still plenty of time to get a dress, if you were like a month away and still didn't have one then I would maybe worry, but seriously 6 months is time enough :0) Good luck x
I think you look wonderful,but you can't make yourself love it if you don't. On another note, don't go back to David's Bridal. In my experience they're far too pushy.

i finally found a dress im in love with. it will be here in september :) its simple cute and absolutely me. i didnt wanna take it off when i found it. thanks for all the support! heres a bad picture but you can get the idea <3
