Irish2014:  It’s a lovely dress! Have you tried it on wearing your makeup and accessories? My dress didn’t really feel right until I wore it on the day. It was a very different feeling than looking in the mirror in some random place.

I think it looks wonderful on you!

Honey, take three deep breaths, hold them, let them out slowly. It’s ok. Your dress looks amazing, YOU look amazing, and it’s all going to be fine.

It sounds like you’re feeling some “imposter syndrome” – which is ok. Everyone feels that way sometimes. It’s a normal part of being human. But you’re going to go to the wedding and all anyone will be able to talk about is how gorgeous and happy you look, not that you’re “playing dress-up,” I promise! And at the end of the day, you’re binding yourself to the person you love. It would be worth doing it in a pillowcase with arm holes if you had to! It’s going to be great, don’t worry 🙂

That dress isn’t fussy at all! It’s beautifully elegant and classy. You look great!

Irish2014:  Cap sleeves are easy. Try the dress on, tuck the sleeves in, and see what you think. THEN SLEEP ON IT! Don’t make any rash decisions. If you decide it looks better without them (and will still stay up) – chop ’em off with scissors 😉

One way or another, you’re going to be a BEAUTIFUL bride, in a very elegant gown, marrying the woman of your dreams in a totally legal and legit ceremony. (Did I have that right? You started that thread, correct?) Congratulations and good luck, my dear 🙂

Irish2014:  It’s a really pretty dress and you look lovely in it!! I wonder if it’s because it’s not a “normal” dress to wear. You know? I mean, most of us aren’t used to fancy and poofy every day. I really really do think it’s so pretty!!

Irish2014:  This was my original deam dress!! You look gorgeous in it! Would wearing it with a different belt make it feel less fancy?

Irish2014:  I agree with Red head Kel. It’s not every day you wear a wedding dress.  I bet you will feel wonderful on your wedding day.  it’s beautiful on you. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I think everyone feels that way at some point.  I did. We just don’t wear gowns much anymore and most of us don’t feel totally natural in them. However, you look beautiful, this is the perfect occasion for a gown, and no one will think you look like a kid playing dress up. No one. Give it time; when you are walking to meet your SO and the music is on, and everyone’s standing, you will feel totally natural. Getting married is a big deal – celebrate it with a wonderful dress and try to enjoy it! Heavens knows you won’t get to dress up like that again for a long time, if ever ;). Make it count!
