I can’t do pushups to save my life. My butt always wants to go into the air. I always look so silly trying to do them, but I feel like every exercise class and exercise video makes me do them. Ugh! Is there a replacement exercise to a pushup? I even suck at the girly ones with my knees on the floor.

Try wall push ups or incline push ups (like on the steps). I mix both of those in there if I need to do more than like 10 push ups.. haha..

Yes, me!! I HATE them! I can do any ab exercise with no issues but I absolutely cannot do pushups. I’ve been working out for years and seen so many trainers and I still can’t get myself to do a freakin push up correctly!

Ugh I hate them too! I had a class yesterday and we had to do pushups through nearly an entire song. It suckkkked. When it was done, I turned to my friend and said screw workouts I’m just going get liposuction (just kidding though). But they work, so I will keep doing them, I will just hate it the entire time!

Just seen this! 🙂 Don’t give up because I am not. Keep going just keep saying yes yes yes. That’s what I said during birth because I wanted to welcome the pain and I felt like if I said no I would ball up into a mess of fear. Keep going! 🙂

I always hated push-ups too because my abs were so weak! I started doing planks to strengthen my abs, and it made it much easier for me to do push-ups and actually focus on my arms. I still do the “girl” push-ups on my knees, but at least it’s something.

@coffeegal85: I do them but instead of on the floor i do them on my bathroom vanity. At least you are still slowly building your muscles and one day you will be able to do push ups cuz your arms will be strong enough.
Also try doing birl pushups on the bed. That helps.

I do the knee pushups. I have zero upper body strength but I hope to improve.
I hate running! When the instructor tells us to run, I just go to the side and jump rope lol

@coffeegal85: Push ups are ridiculous but for good reason, they are rocking your arms and core. Yesterday in Crossfit I did a total of 130+ pushups in my three rotations and I was ready to puke.
To start out try doing “girl” pushups on your knees. This will help you to build up your arm muscles without sacrificing form. You can also do incline push ups as well on a bench/stool/couch/table or whatever you can find. Once you are feeling strong you can go to the regular push ups and should be able to keep your butt down and core tight.
