So about a week ago we noticed water coming from under our dryer.  My husband saw that the duct wasn't attached properly and assumed that's what it was.  He reattached it and the water stopped.  A few days later it started again so he bought a better duct and some clamps and fixed it a second time.  The water stopped again.

This morning we wake up and the water is leaking again but much worse.  He still thought it was the dryer but I'm not so sure anymore.  It's coming from the laundry closet plus it's under the fridge (although we can't tell if it leaked from the laundry).  I went to the basement and noticed the ceiling tiles in the storage room appear to be water damaged now.  So now someone has to come look at it either today or tomorrow because we're starting to think it's a damaged pipe in that common wall.  Tongue out  Oh, and we're not going to do laundry because if it is the dryer just soaking the floor then we don't want to make it worse.

We had a water leak in our first apartment together and I just hate dealing with them so much.  This one isn't as bad but we're not going to give it time to possibly get to that point.

I waiting on a plumber to call me back this morning, too. I think our hot water heater is leaking. A section of carpet in one room is soaked through and it stinks!

If it's not one thing, it's another!

@bree72: Yeah that's pretty much how it's been.  It's actually good I don't have a job just yet because I feel like there have been two or so appointments per week since we moved in for different things.  Plus yesterday I was trying to sleep because I didn't feel good but the power went out.  It doesn't sound like a big deal but when the power goes out, the smoke detectors beep once a minute to let me know that they have no main power running to them.

Sometimes home ownership just sucks. It's a fact. :)

@bree72: Luckily we don't own the home so we don't have to pay.  I just want a week where everything is good to go.  I am REALLY glad we don't own the home though in case they have to go in to the pipes and everything.

We just hit a gas line while redoing some flooring upstairs.  The hot and cold water pipes were running right next to it, so we couldve easily hit one of those instead!  The boneheads that put our house together put the pipes right underneath the floor, when they should be at least 6 inches down.

The landlord came by and fixed the problem today so I'm pretty happy about that!  It turned out to just be that the washing machine hose was broken.  I hate that it got through the floor a bit though, enough to leave water stains on two ceiling tiles in the basement.  I always hate knowing water is somewhere I can't see it, especially when I don't know what other things it's near (for safety).  But it's fixed and everything seems to be fine!

@JoJo Bananas: I was actually surprised today with how nicely put together this place seems to be.  The water pipes in the laundry area are connected to the ones in the kitchen and the outside faucet so it was easy to determine that wasn't the issue.

@JoJo Bananas: I'm sorry!  Hopefully it won't be anything too hard to deal with.  I was so glad ours was the hose instead of a pipe that was hard to get to.

UGH!  Yup, me too.  We have a jet tub in the master that my husband used once when we moved in last year.  No problems, we havent used it since then but went to fill it when Irene came through incase we lost power so we could still flush.  (We're on well water).  He filled it... and one of the light fixtures right below it started to drip water on to the kitchen counter top.  Stupid tub and leak.  We wont be fixing that one until we renovate the bathroom since that requires getting in under the tub.  =\

@pinkshoes: Our first apartment together was fine for a while.  A year after we moved in we had some dripping from the light fixture in the dining room below the bathroom.  They "fixed" it and left.  A few months later we came home from school and the entire dining room table was flooded with water.  They never really fixed our bathroom still so that's one of the main reasons we moved out.  We're lucky that today the room directly below was storage and that it didn't get past saturating the ceiling tile (no water dripped at all).
