haha aw. I'm sorry you're sick. It does suck :)
I must say... I think my bf is a little bit of a wuss about being sick so I don't pile on the sympathy there, but I do always encourage staying home from work when you're potentially infectious!
LOL - I tell people hey, if it's so easy having a cold... ya want it? :) Sorry you feel cruddy today - get some hot tea or soup in you and you'll feel a little better. :)

hey, i would not tell you that. i'd tell you to go home and be sick there, haha. I sympathize with people with colds etc, but only if they keep their germs at home. If you're at work, you're not that sick. And if you ARE that sick, and at work, I don't have sympathy AND i have a grudge that you're going to make me sick too. ;-)
I hate it when I'm sick and the person I'm talking to starts talking about how they never, ever get sick. It kinda makes me want to cough on them.

Yep, got to agree, if you're at work you're not that sick. Gotta suck it up or go home and be ill on the couch.

But i must say, if you feel THAT crappy, at least take a half day and sleep in. I know i feel the worst until lunch time but i get going a little more in the afternoon.
Ugh, that's one of my office pet peeves, too. When you show up to work withg a cold, people tell you to go home so you don't spread your germs around. But when someone calls in sick at my office with a cold, I often hear, "God, it's just a cold!"
I hate colds. They really do suck. I have a hard time sleeping because of the congestion, and I can never get comfy. I'm sorry :( I hope you feel better, and stay home guilt-free if you want!

I've had the "just a cold" comment before but man, the last few years when I get a cold, it seriously knocks me down. I'm just 100% miserable with them, and I just can't think about anything else but the germs just overtaking my feeble body and that the end must be near. A bit dramatic, yes, but unless you're in my germ-infested shoes, don't judge

Ugh, I hate how my FI never picks up any slack around the house when I'm sick! Apparently he doesn't think it's that big a deal either, and that I just totally dig doing the dishes when I've got a cold. I'll stay home from work and sleep and he won't even make lunch for me. LOL WTH?!? Hope you feel better soon, @Akennedy01!

I have clinical depression so I can completely understand. I get a lot of "that stuff is just all in your head. Snap out of it". I mean, do you think I don't want to? The nerve of some people!
God I hate when people are like that too! My sister is like that--If I'm sick, I'm "not that sick." But heaven forbid she gets sick!
Hope you feel better! Perhaps you should go home and rest.
Um, I had cancer and had to miss work a lot when I was being diagnosed, and then I was on short term leave, then I had to (and still do) miss a lot of time for follow ups and issues and this evil troll I work with always talked crap about how it's not like I was that sick, and how she wished she could miss work as much as I did (do) and how some people get to just take advantage. Yeah.
She just had a biopsy. Suddenly, she's my best friend. I don't wish cancer or illness upon anyone, but maybe, just maybe, she finally understands.
@laylabellle--Wow, bee hugs go out to you. I hope you're doing well! Cancer is so scary, I can't believe the nerve of that woman!

Feel better! When I get colds, they last for weeks! It's so annoying!
Being sick sucks! I hope you start feeling better soon! I hate when I feel like crap and look kinda normal ... and people tell me I don't look sick so I can't possibly be sick. I just get sooo angry!

Thanks, I'm fine now. But she finally gets it, since she's had a dr. appointment every single day this week, another tomorrow, and is waiting on biopsy results.

Yeah I agree, then those same people who tell you get over it when they become sick are the biggest wimps of all.
Yeah, you can live through a cold, but that doesn't mean you're not suffering! Hope you feel much better now!

Um. Yes, it's just a cold. But. It still sucks. It still makes me feel like crap. And I'm super tired.
Ugh. Number one pet peeve right there. People trying to belittle being ill. I don't care if it's just a common cold, I'm going to take cold medicine and sleep. And not go to work because when I do they just say "OMG why are you here?!"
SO was definitely not his loving self this morning when he had to get up early and go to work and I laid in a sniffly pile.
