- Wedding: February 2011
I have a previous post where I asked what happens with other Alfred Angelos brides and their dresses when picked up. Because the location near me – wants to screw me. 🙂
They send me home with a dress super wrinkled (and I mean, balled up into a little ball wrinkled) and said that “I had a fabric that wrinkled easily”. Its satin. Yes, it wrinkles easily – but, not like this! I’ve seen a lot of satin brides and THIS … well, THIS wrinkledness isn’t right. So, the manager tells me that they’ll steam it 2 days before, I’ll wrap it in bed sheets, and take it home and steam it the day of the wedding, and go from there. Cool. Seemed like a lot – but, cool, its a solution (and that’s all I want sometimes).
So, I do research and find out the dress should’ve been pressed. Contact corporate Alfred Angelos, they get involved – and finally I receive a phonecall that says “yes, it will be pressed when you bring it back 2 days before”. Good, done, happy.
So, today a bridesmaid calls me … they lost her friggin dress!!! She had an appt to pick it up today (after alterations) and low and behold, no dress! “Oh, I think I left it at home – didn’t I call you?” This was the seamstress – the same way that said that my dress will remain this wrinkled on my wedding day. My bridesmaid is a nurse with 3 kids, its not like she has the time to come back when this seamstress decides to get her “shit” together.
So, by this point, we’re even scared to bring back this wedding dress on Thursday! The wedding is in 4 days; they’re trying to find one of my bridesmaid dresses, my dress is more wrinkled than a garbage bag, and now Alfred Angelo has officially added onto my stress (that is UNNECESSARY assuming they just did their job).
I am not a complainer, or try to get people in trouble – but I cannot stand the fact that with such a big name and busy store, that they’re actually getting away with doing this to brides. Disappointed and I hate them ( as strong of a word that is ) for making me this crazy before my wedding day.
