@shadesofviolet:  Congrats on your FI’s recovery and your wedding plans! 14 weeks is daunting but possible. DH and I had about 14 weeks to plan our wedding as well and it turned out beautiful! No doubt yours will too. Don’t overlook department stores for your dress. You could probably get a white dress off the rack and not even have to worry about ordering!

Huge congratulations on your DH’s recovery. I hope you have a wonderful wedding and a very happy life together. 14 weeks is totally do-able. I planned our perfect day in three and a half weeks!

im glad to hear your FH is doing better, and sorry to hear his family is being stupid. But its all do-able within 14 weeks, just start with the most important thing to you and try to book first, cuz they may already be booked for that day and you may have to find a backup!

Good Luck!

@shadesofviolet:  “Well, it’s booked! November 2nd, 2013. I’m a spring bride!”

I looked at this for about 15 seconds until I realized you’re in Australia, lol. Congrats! I hope you have a beautiful and joyful event

@shadesofviolet:  congrats and you have plenty of time.

one of my FI’s groomsman is a event planner and said you only need 3 months max to plan a fabulous party.

all you really need is to figure out the caterer and location.  after that, everything will fall into place.

i got engaged in february, i could have been ready to have my wedding 4 months after that and we are having 130 people at a hotel.  i am organized and once i had the location, everything fell into place very quickly.

@shadesofviolet:  I have been in kind of the same boat, no sick FI (and glad to hear yours is better), however I think you probably are like me and have been planning all this time anyway. We just decided about a month ago to get married in Oct, so it is a very short period as well. Of course I am not planning anything elborate this year. Big parties and such will wait until next year. Good luck and congratulations!

@shadesofviolet:  Firstly; YAY ON HIS RECOVERY! That’s awesome awesome news for you guys.

Secondly; you’re doing it right! I think sometimes we spend too much time on our wedding planning and we overthink things wayyyy too much and that’s possibly where the stress comes from.

Enjoy the planning and congrats.
