So, ive been meaning to write this post for the longest time but the past few months have been insanely busy & ive been slacking.
Mr. Menard is in the army. He actually was in basic from march to the end of june, so its all pretty new so far. In true military fashion, we went to the court house & got married in february! :) I didnt announce it & i wanted to so bad! at first, we wanted to keep it a secret because we didnt want anyone to skip our wedding just because we're already married. So, there was no announcing it to the Bee. i have several friends planning weddings & my name isnt very secretive. i just didnt want to risk it.
Anyway, we decided to announce it in May. & i LOVE being a Mrs!
We had originally planned on having our big ceremony in July...but as many of you know, the military is unpredictable! we ended up having to change our plans. i really wont bore you with all of the drama...but i really wish we wouldve waited to start planning & i wish we wouldve planned the ceremony for a few years down the road. Mostly because now i dont want the big ceremony. (SHOCKER!) i love weddings & ive been dreaming about what our wedding would be like for years. However, now that we're married...i could care less. I just love being married & thats whats important...not the big ceremony.
I really hate that so much was put into the original planning & my parents were the ones footing the bill. Luckily, most of the money was refundable & what wasnt is still usable. Our plan right now is to keep my dress & have it altered. The florist down payment will be used for a bouquet & photographer down payment for pictures to celebrate our marriage & share them with our family & friends. That way the money won't go to waste AND i can still wear my dress! =]
So, im happy to FINALLY announce to the hive that i am married to my wonderful husband! Thank you girls so much for being here during my wedding planning (& other fun topics). I definitely plan on sticking around...& hopefully ill have pictures to post in the near future! :)
