I’ve never used the BC that prevents AF for several months, but my rule of thumb is to just call the MD and talk to the nurse if you have questions. While I’m sure it is nothing, and so many things cause AF-like cramps (i.e. gas, constipation, working out, food borne illness), if you are worried, just call to ease your mind.

@howtobeawife:  How long have you been on this certain BC? Could it just be break through bleeding? If you are unsure, call your doctor or take a preganacy test to ease your mind.

I used to get this when I would try to control my period through BC – if I tried to prevent AF and take my pills straight through, it eventually caught up to me after 2-3 months.

Can I ask why you take this particular BC instead of the 21/28 day pills?
