I got ID’d three times yesterday. I am 30 next week, have to dye my hair because I’m quite white already, and I get botox. Clearly, my beauty regime is either working, or else I just look about 10. Like a prematurely aged, wizened, small child.

Ugh. Freaky image in my head now…

@allinoelle:  This is pretty normal. I had the same issue. I found it hard to get into bars until i was 25 even with ID (with drinking age of 18)while friends were waved in. Believe me, it catches up with you!!! Unfortunately!

Enjoy it 🙂

I never get ID’d but I’m 30 and when I tell people no one believes me.  I’m guessing I must look somewhere around 23-24 as legal age here is 19.

I had this issue for most of my life…until this year. I wonder why it just stopped. Cry

I would love for everyone to think I’m younger than I am again! (I’m 24 going on 25 in two months!)

Yes, me! Drives me INSANE!!!! I am 23, look 17, maybe 18. When I was 15, one of my sister’s classmates asked if I was going on the class trip, as it was a trip where they were in casual clothes, and I was dressed in school uniform. It was a trip for their grade only, they were three years younger than me. I got really angry and upset, and said ‘no I am in grade 10’. The look on her face was priceless though when I said that.

But what really bugs me is all the comments like ‘you’ll love it when you’re 30/40/50’ Well I am 23 aren’t I? Those comments drive me insane, even more than getting carded does. I hate looking really young, and people saying you’ll love it when you’re such and such an age really irritates me.

i’ll be 30 in november. everyone always thinks i’m like 23 or 25. when people look all surprised when i tell them my real age, i explain to them “it’s because of my cheeks. i have big baby cheeks.” and they are like “yeah! that’s totally it!”

I don’t think you have anything to worry about – most bridal models you see in magazines are in their late teens, I’ve even seen 13 year olds shoot bridal catalogs/campaigns. You are going to look perfect and lovely on your wedding day.

I’m happy I don’t look my age. I’m 36 but most people say I look 26. I will never complain I love it.

@Jacqui90:  I promise you, you’ll appreciate it someday!! I got asked for ID on a bus to pay the child rate. Child rate was under 16 and I was 23 and heading to a club. I promise you, I understand!!

People tell me all the time that I look 18/19. I guess it’s a compliment lol.

@Holly77:  You lucky duck!!! I’ve only started realising in the past year that I look my age. Before that I’ve always looked at least 5-10years younger! Once you’ve ID to prove your age there isn’t a problem!

I’m 28. I went to a liquor store with my FI a few months ago and a lady asked FI if he’d like a sample of wine. He said sure. I then looked at her, waiting for her to offer me a sample. She looked at me and said “Maybe in a few years!” (and our legal drinking age is 18 here!!). I was amused and said “I’m 28. Want to see my ID?” she was shocked. This is possibly the most extreme example, but I get ID’d quite a bit still. It is sometimes a bit annoying, but in reality I am so happy I can still be mistaken for someone under 18. I’d hate to look older than my age. I’m respected at work and I can’t think of an example where looking young has actually hurt me. This means I will hopefully age well lol.
