Gorgeous!! I grew up in LaGrange and we always went to Columbus to go shopping :)
@beargoose: I grew up in Lagrange as well (and always came to Columbus to shop), but I moved to Virginia during high school. It is kind of surreal to be back here after so long!
@impatientlypatient: Small world! I moved to SC for college and am still here. I still have family in LG and a bunch of friends in the LG/Columbus area.
I need to find a gem like that is Pittsburgh! Lol. You are a lucky lady. Our hotels here seem pretty pricey.
Wow, that's such a good price! You certainly get a lot for your money there :)

Some Background-I live in Columbus, GA, a town that is known for it's historical mills that were brought about by the direct access to the Chattahoochee River.
I never thought I would WANT to get married in a hotel, but I fell in love with this one as soon as I walked through the door! It is a Marriott that is built around the historic ruins of a pre civil war cotton mill. It is gorgeous and historic which fits in perfectly with our ceremony venue (pictures here) that is at a park celebrating Columbus's industrial past and the importance of the river. It is just a 1.5 block stroll through the cobblestone streets of the historic district to get from ceremony to reception.
This is the outside of the building on the mill side.
This is the lobby also in the mill side.
This is the veranda outside the ballroom where the cake, bar, and guest book will be. The guests will hang out here and in the lobby during the cocktail hour.
This is one of the loft style hotel rooms in the mill side.
This is the gorgeous restaurant that is inside the hotel. It is a Hoolihan's which just so happens to be one of my favorite places to eat!
And finally this is the ballroom. I am having a small wedding (about 75 people) so the space won't feel crammed and the middle of the room will be open for dancing.
I absolutely can not wait to go and sign the contract! The coordinator is super nice and is even offering a free "in case of rain" room, plus she gets my vision! It is going to be so much fun working with her!
One of my favorite things about this place (other than the price-which we will get to) is that it is a block away from the really cool bar scene so all the younger guests (me in my wedding dress included) can hit the bars after the reception. Some think it's tacky, I think it is AWESOME!
So the price (drumroll please) including everything (even rentals, catering, two ballrooms and service staff) but alcohol because we are doing a host bar and will just settle the tab at the end of the night is---
just under $4,000!!!!!!
