    Hi Bees,

    So my mum has gone to Hong Kong to get me my qun kwa amongst other wedding related things. She's been shopping with my cousin over there. I feel bad because I didn't like the first qun kwa that she picked. This is the first one they got:

    She spent about GBP £100 on it. I would've still worn it because I didn't want to trouble my mum. She said she didn't really like it and my cousin didn't really like it! Erm...so why did she buy it?! Because it was the only one they had in my size :-( I'm a UK size 16 at the moment so quite large compared to size zero Chinese girls over there. She couldn't sleep for a few nights cos she kept thinking of the kwa and how much she didn't like it so she went and bought another one and had it tailor made to my current measurements. This is my qun kwa:

    I absolutely LOVE this qun kwa but it cost my mum another £120 to get this one. She can't return the other one. I told her to bring it back to the UK so I can sell it online cos there might be another bride who might like it but she's not sure she has room in her suitcase so we might have to take the £100 hit :-(

    My poor mum...she's done so well over there. I owe her so much!

    Has anyone got a pic of their qun kwa? (I still love looking even though I've got one...which can be dangerous!)

    I'm sorry you're having so much trouble, but your clothing is gorgeous!

    That is so sweet of your mom to do that for you and even nicer that you really appreciate it.  That is beautiful, the detail is amazing.  Can't wait to see a pic of you in it.

    It looks great!  I wish I had done a traditional dress, but in an attempt to keep cost down, I skipped it.  =(

    Thanks ladies! Smile

    My mum is amazing and like she says..."I only have one daughter so I want to see her happy on her wedding day".

    @pinkshoes:

    To be honest pinkshoes, I wasn't going to do the Chinese banquet since the western ceremony is more important to me (I'm Chinese but born and raised in the UK). My future MIL really wanted to do it and now I'm kinda glad it's happening.

    These qun kwas cost so much over here but if you know where to go in Hong Kong / China then you can get some good bargains. I'm sure your wedding day was amazing with or without the kwa!

    @sarahbabs:

    Thanks sarahbabs! The girl in the photo isn't me...I think my mum got one of the shop assistants to model it for her so she can see what it looked like. But I can't wait to wear it! She doesn't get back home until 14th Nov so I won't see it until then :-(

    I can't see the pictures for your kwa - there must be something wrong with the hosting site. Would love to see it, if you could fix the pics!

    I'm from the UK aswell, luckily I didn't have to go back to Hong Kong to get mine. A friend recommended me this site www.littleredweddingdress.com its where I bought my kwa from.

    gl on your wedding day later this month!
