It really depends on what types of flowers you’re planning on using, and how big you want your arrangements to be. For your bouquet- plan on 12-24 roses, plus 4-12 stems of filler or other flowers. If you were using a flower that takes up more space (like hydrangea), you’d only need 3-4 stems. Reception centerpieces can be about the same size as your bouquet, or smaller- again, depending on what size containers you’re using.

Hopefully that’s helpful. If you post pictures of what you’re going for, or the types of flowers you’re hoping to use- you’d probably get a better idea of what you need to order.

Can you give us more info on what type of centerpieces you want to make? Pictures maybe? I am planning on making my own. This is my inspiration pic. I made a trial one and I found I needed 4 dozen carnations per centerpiece to achieve this look. I know this sounds like a lot but that’s only because I do not want any greenery. For the total amount I will just multiply 48 x # of tables and probably buy a few extras because some will break when handling them.

yes. It definitely depends on the flowers you are using and the type of centerpieces. I am using roses and purchasing them at the LA flower market. I had an idea in my head of how many I would need and went there and bought some to make mock ups. I was WAAAAYYY off. I need more than I thought. Honestly, I would buy a dozen or so of the type of flower you are using to make some mock ups. It will really help you in the end.

Here is an example of how many I am using:

  • Brides bouquet: 15-18ish roses and I may throw in some peonies.

  • bridesmaid bouquets (2): about 8-10 roses each (they will be on the smaller side)

  • Centerpieces(11): I’m making rose pomanders on a four inch flower foam ball and they take around 28-30 flowers apiece.

  • single rose per boutonnière- need about 5-6

  • I may also make a toss bouquet which would be about 12-15 roses.

  • I am also ordering extra roses for peace of mind and rose petals.

In total im ordering about 450 roses. 450 roses @ $13/25= $234.00 Wink
