So Bees I went into the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress shopping all laid back – all they needed was floor length and royal blue. The girls then decided that they wanted to all have chiffon so it looked the same in photos – ok this makes sense so I agreed 🙂
Fast forward to this weekends shopping experience and Bridesmaid A finds a dress that looks knockout on her (trust me she looks better than the model cos the dress needs curves), Maid/Matron of Honor falls in love with it – but is disappointed she can’t try it on cos she just had a baby and they didn’t have it in a plus size 🙁 and when I showed Bridesmaid or Best Man B a pic later (she couldn’t come cos of an Xmas work do) she flipped over it and wants to go in and try it on too.
I just had to laugh – there was me being “nice” and giving the girl free reign and they may end up all in same dresses anyway… Thou to be honest it is a gorgeous dress and I do think it will work with all of them 🙂
Here’s a pic 🙂 It is the Henry Roth – Jay
This happen to anyone else??

All the girls and I went shopping and all I said was I want it to be floor length, blue, and would like them to be semi similar. I didn’t think we would find a dress that would flatter all of them since they are all different sizes and heights so I figured as long as they looked good together I really didn’t care.
At each store they all looked at the dresses together and pulled a bunch to try on and whoever was closest to the size of the sample would try it on. We found some that we liked earlier that day and at the 3rd store they all went in dressing rooms to each put on a different dress. Once they all came out and saw the one bridesmaid they all loved it and said that was the one and they didn’t even want to try on anymore. It was kind of funny since thats what I did when I found my wedding dress. I really like it and I’m glad they loved it and picked it. Now we are just counting down the days until they come in.

Lol! Isn’t it funny how that works?? I told my girls they could wear different dresses as long as it was in the right color and floor length (because that is what a few of them requested). A few of my BMs came dress shopping one day and they all ended up liking the same dress! We ended up having my 2 MOHs in one style of dress and the other BMs all in another style of dress!. So funny!

That’s exactly what I did. I said ‘this length this color, go to town’ and they ended up in the same dress haha.

I was trying to be the cool bride…telling my girls to all pick their own dress. But when I went shopping with my sister (who is the MOH) we decided that the one dress we both loved, was what I wanted all the girls to wear. D’oh! So much for being cool.
It is pretty funny though that all your girls ended up going with the same dress!

@ShellVee: Not for me, they all ended up in different ones, but ironically patterened where when they are standing it is strapless, one strap, strapless, two straps!
For my sisters wedding two years ago though this happend, we all ended up loving the same dress, so we all matched even though she just said, blue and short.

That’s the same dress both of my MOHs picked! I told all of my girls, anything from Bill Levkoff that comes in satin Eggplant. They both loved that dress. Worked out though. Both MOHs wore the same and then everyone else picked a different one.

YUP! Same with me, lmboo!! All my BMs are all slim and really tall, so they would all look good in the same dress but they have curves in different places so I wanted the heavy chested girls to feel comfortable so ALL I told them was that, the dress had to be peach, floor length, and chiffon. When they got there…one of my BMs (she makes EVERYthing she wears look good) tried it on…and the other girls dropped ALL the dresses in their hands and gravitated towards the one she was trying on, lol! Here is the dress…it of course looks better on them haha!

I was a maid in a wedding last year where none of the BMs had ever met any of the other ones before. The bride was in Japan at the time, so she couldn’t come dress shopping with us. She just said it had to be a floor-length dress in marine blue from DB. Another one of the four BMs and I both went shopping the same day (unbeknownst to each other) and on opposite sides of the country, and we both picked the same one. The bride told the other two girls which one we had chosen and gave them the option of getting the same one. One of those two decided that one looked best on her, too! There was only one girl in a different dress. It was pretty silly how it worked out.

yup, this happened to me too. I told my BM’s that I wanted them to showcase their own style in their dresses as their personalities are completely opposite. One is pop, the other is rock n’ roll. They both ended up picking the same dress, and it looks fantastic on both of them. I hope they accessorize with their own style.

@HisWifey2012: if you don’t mind…what designer and style is this dress? I love it! Thanks!

Happened with us… My Maid/Matron of Honor and FM are to wear Brown, my BM’s are to wear Green. We went shopping and now my BM’s and FM have the same dress in the 2 colors and my Maid/Matron of Honor dress has not been purchased yet. We went to 4 stores, ended up purchasing the dresses at Burlington for $40 each, I will post pics when I get them. Still waiting for the girls to send them to me.

Phew glad it isn’t just me 🙂 least I was keeping the dress thing a secret, only the mum, Mother-In-Law and my SO knew I had given them the wear whatever option so no one is gonna ask what happened 🙂 I must admit I like it either way so I don’t mind them matching or not but I thought saying yep anything would’ve been better I guess in this way at least they all still get a say and are happy with the dress 🙂
