I just want to say that I love Weddingbee! It is so, so hard to find a message board that doesn't deteriorate into pettiness and negativity, at least some of the times. I was surfing the other day...ha ha, let's see, on Board 1 brides were leaving nasty, sarcastic messages for a girl in the "Waiting" section because she'd been nagging her boyfriend about a ring. At Board 2 a bride devoted an entire blog to putting down other people's choices and complaining about how lame she thought this color scheme or that idea was, resulting in general bickering amongst everyone.

I don't know how Weddingbee does it, I see nothing but friendly advice and support on these boards! I'm so glad I have this site to 'come home' too!

    Thanks for the kind words!

We have a great team of Hostesses to help flag snarky posts. :-)  Plus Mrs. Bee and Mrs. Penguin live on the site, so we're able to spot posts quickly that way as well.

That's so interesting, Mr. Bee!  I just kind of assumed that since I didn't see them that they didn't really exist!  (A silly thing to do really.)  Do you have to pull very many snarky comments?

I also looove Wedding Bee. The boards are so nice and everyone is soo cool and helpful. We don't all have the same tastes, budgets, thinking etc. but we seem to all get along and mesh well. It's fun here!!!!

caitlanc - We don't get too many snarky posts at this point. :-)  We get a decent amount of vendor spam/promotion though, which we remove from the boards.

It's like tending a garden: if you weed it regularly, then it's not that hard to keep up.  It's only when you completely ignore things that it becomes unruly...

My theory (Re: other boards and online communities) is that people begin to feed off of negativity and like getting a rise out of people online. On the Bee, its the opposite!

I have to say that I completely agree with everyone! I was a late joiner (I joined after my wedding when a friend recommended the site to me). My dream job would be a wedding planner, so I love to help out when I can on here. The planning process was an absolute nightmare for me, and anything I can do to help make it easier for other brides makes me happy! I've never seen a wedding board with more helpful comments!
