I dont have any great advice, I just wanted to say that I am sorry about what you are going through. Keep on the job hunt (like hard-core), and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

It also sounds like you made the right decision. Try to get some deposits back, call around and see what you can do. Its not impossible to have a big wedding at some point, but for now you have to keep your shelter and well-being safe. In the mean time, put away little bits of money while you can so you don’t have to fear homelessness.

Oh my goodness–I am so sorry! First, take a deep breath. Are you receiving any kind of severance package? Can you file for unemployment? What field do you work in? This is a devastating blow, but try not to get overwhelmed.Take one thing at a time. Can any of your friends or family help so you don’t lose your apartment?

I’m sorry… So sorry. Good thing is the two of you still have each other. I lost my job esrlier this year and was in a really nasty spot for a few months. I tried to stay encouraged, job hunted like it was my job and woke up one morning to a vmail requesting an interview to a great job which I later got!  Those three months were so stressful but I reached out(like you are doing) and received a lot of emotion support which kept me going. I know that it is hard but keep waking up and just keep moving. In the meantime while you’re looking for work try and participate in research studies… You can msg me and I’ll send you some tips on how to participate. This helped me tremendously to keep gas in my car and make ends meet.  We are standing with you!

sora.mccann.9:  Ugh, I wish there was something I could do for you. Is there any kind of job you can get outside of your field–just to get some money while you look for another graphic artist position? Is your FI bringing in any income?

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could do something more for you. Have you started looking for another position, maybe through indeed.com or monster.com?

sora.mccann.9:  I am sorry you lost your job and are facing hard times. But kudos to you for being a mature adult. There have been plenty of posts on here from people in similar situations that refuse to give up their PPD.

okay… There’s a website called “opinionsunlimited.com”. Sign up on that site and list all if your interests… Your fiancé could do it also maybe. you will start getting calls from clinics, products that need reviews. There is a bunch of money to be made $40 here $100 there… The compensation varies and sometimes it only takes abt 45 min.  You may also go to craigslist and under “jobs”, “community” and “gigs” types “research study” in the search box. You can sign up for tons of different things tht apply to you. It will feel good bc you are helping out while being helped.  Pls msg me if u have any questions.  It’s all going to work out.

Oh no honey! does your FI work? Everything will be alright, there’s always jobs out there, maybe even at mc donalds… anything is better than nothing! Or you could sell some of your art.

I wish i could do something for you 🙁

I sympathise. It’s horrible to lose your job like that so unexpected.

You can NOT go back to living in a car. There’s no two ways about it. You need to bust a nut to do whatever you can to get whatever job you can do. There is ALWAYS a job for you in the meantime somewhere.

I personally do know what it’s like to be asthmatic and not afford my medicine. But that won’t happen to me again because I am a grown adult and I can work until my butt drops off. I recently signed up to bank as an HCA in hospital, which means I make beds, I help people eat, I help them pee and I give them showers.

You won’t be homeless again because you will do absolutely everything you can to ensure you get another job and bring in an income.

As for your fiance, does he not work? It sounds like you have invested a lot of money that you cannot afford in your wedding already! I’d refund what you can, and put the money you get back from it away for a rainy day. It should go out of sight and be for emergencies only.

Good luck. I hope things work out for you and you find a new job soon.
