Where do you buy them? What do they do? What’s in them? I have a cat that licks herself bald that I think may be steessed.

Thank you for this! I am moving soon and am looking for a way to keep my cats calm!

I’m intrigued as well. What do they do? Do they give off some kind of aroma or scent that calms cats down?

Rachel631:  what does FHS stand for? I thought maybe she was allergic to something so I switched foods twice, added an extra litter box so she wouldn’t have to share space with the other cat (in case that was the stress), banned the roommates dog from coming in the room, and try to distract her when she’s grooming compulsively.

Nothing has really helped, I can’t find any obvious stressors, nothing changed when she first started doing it.

My cat also does this! She compulsively licks/bites chunks of fur off, so she often has one or two bald spots. We have brought her to the vet for this multiple times, she got steroids for it once as the area was inflamed, but generally they haven’t been able to help us prevent her from doing it. They did put her on an anti-depressant once, but it didn’t help and it made her a total zombie, so we discontinued use of that really quickly.

It’s so strange because she seems to be a very healthy, active, happy cat otherwise! She is very needy though (always has to be sitting on us, touching at least one of us, constantly wanting to play with our other cat, etc.). She does seem to do this more often in the winter when its drier though, so maybe it is partially due to the condition her skin is in, and partially due to stress.

I was using a store brand for a while (I can’t remember the name) but stopped using it because it wasn’t like normal flea medecine and didn’t dry ever! I had to wipe it off because it was still on their fur after a long while. We just moved so I haven’t used anything this month. Maybe that’s it?? What do you use for fleas? I’ve heard frontline is out, I switched to k9 advantix for the dog and that seems to work better. Since we just moved there’s one less dog (she’s not a dog fan) since we don’t have a roommate anymore, and now we have an upstairs as well. So she loves being able to go up and sleep on the bed when I’m vacuuming or the dog is bothering her.
