MissHarleyBlue:  You say in your post that your FI lies a lot and you are concerned that drugs have screwed up your FMIL’s brain. Why would you be surprised by anything?

Wow! I swear we went through this entire story before?

These are not white lies. This level of lying is not normal and should not be tolerated.

About his mom, why not wait and see if she actually comes before getting so upset? Clearly, she has access to some money, maybe she’ll actually show up!

This story was posted before but you said your FI lied and never told his family.  Which one is it?

Aside from the lying issues, why would you pick a venue that requires travel when you knew your FMIL probably couldn’t afford it?  You say, “You would think she’d want to see her only child get married,” but don’t you think her son and his soon-to-be-wife should have cared enough to consider this, too?

Rant and venting were right on. Goodness. I hope your FI is OK however it turns out.

Ok. I thought I was the only one who thought this story sounded familiar. Also, in this post she says the FMIL says she WILL attend AND bought a tablet. But the OP is angry because she’s acting like the FMIL will not attend.

Sounds like the OP is angry at FMIL for no reason at this point.

Someone open a thread about marrying someone who constantly lies to you so I can comment on that. Because that’s throwing me also.

Your FMIL should be the least of your problems, you intend on marrying a man who lies to you so much you don’t even know when he’s telling the truth. That’s a much larger issue than your flaky FMIL.
