hello, i’ve read these boards a lot over the year i’ve been engaged but I’ve never posted before. Well, we’re three months out from our wedding and I’m just anxious about everything (except the person I’m marrying). My fiance and I ordered my wedding band a few weeks ago at this mom and pop jewelery shop and thought the designer understood what I wanted because it was similar to a piece they had that was a different metal and $1300. He said he could custom mine for $900 + taxes so we agreed and we picked it up today. It is a gorgeous band and I said I really loved it and thank you and we left quickly after we paid because they were closing and I felt good about it. But when we got in the car I put it with my engagement ring again and it just didn’t feel right and now I’m second guessing it and making my fiance stressed that we paid a lot of money toward something that isn’t quite right. I keep wanting to like it with my engagement ring (the he custom designed last year) but something doesn’t feel right. Is it because I’ve never worn two rings before or do they look awful and strange together? I thought it might be more rounded or thicker and not so flat. I love the idea of a twist and the symbolism of intertwining ourselves in marriage, Now I just don’t know what to do. Can you look and tell me what you think? (and ignore the fact that my e-ring really needs a redipping/cleaning soon..) Do I just need to let this go? I feel so bad that I upset my fiance over a piece of jewelry.

Honestly, I think the rings look good together. They don’t clash at all.

I love it and I think they look great together.

I think they look great together. They compliment each other nicely without being super matchy-matchy.
But, it’s really up to you to love it. If you don’t love it, you don’t love it. No amount of people on here telling you it looks nice is going to change your mind. When we first were looking at wedding bands, we bought two – one for each side – at first I thought I liked it and I posted pictures on here and everyone said they loved it, but something still wasn’t right for me. I realized I didn’t like that having one band on each side really distracted from my center stone, so we returned one of the bands and now I’m much more happy. I don’t know if you can return something that was custom made, but if you don’t like it, and you can afford to re-do it, you don’t have to keep it!

My first thought was “oh my gosh I love it!” and then I read more. So, yes, they definitely look great together. Give yourself some time; you may just not be used to seeing your ring with anything alongside it!!

They look beautiful together. I agree with everyone else… You need time to get used to two rings on your finger! This ring looks great with your e-ring, but also looks very beautiful on it’s own- something that is really important!

Beautiful! Your rings go very well together 🙂

I think they are perfect!! Do you want a band that is exactly like your engagement ring? If so I have seen one that looks similar at Kays, and it isnt that expensive, may be worth it to try it on and see if it is what you were looking for or if you love the one you custom designed. I questioned my ring, and exchanged it a few times before picking the perfect ring (which the jeweler then ruinwd and I had to replace my entire set). I think your set is beautiful and looks great! But if youre questioning it it might be worth it to look at something else just to confirm your first instinct on your ring! =) I wish you luck! And anything would look good with your ering, that thing is beautiful!! =)

Wow they look incredible !!! What a beautiful choice. You made the right decision for sure

I think if the edges on the plain metal parts were a little rounder it would be perfect, you could see if the jeweller can do that for you. I think going custom can just make you second guess, because you don’t see it until it’s done!

They look great, not matchy-matchy, but certainly they compliment each other.

@futuremrs426: it might be worth giving it some time. I picked up my custom made band only a week before we left the country to get married abroad. It was a ring they already had in store but I’d asked for a thinner band. The one they had in store was 2.5mm and mine now is about a 2.2mm. Really makes the difference!
anyway I was so nervous to pick it up as there was no time to change it if I didn’t like it. When I got it I was pretty pleased. About 2 weeks later just before the wedding I decided I hated it. I felt sick every time I thought about it and started looking online to see where I could get a better one and how much it would cost.
Now ow we’re married and I’ve been wearing it a few weeks I’m back in love with it. of course im sentimental about it but it’s not just that, I’ve really come to love it I think it looks beautiful and I went into a shop and compared it to a similar one that I thought I loved but no, I walked out loving mine even more. I really hope this happens for you. Lots of love xx
