Thats funny and I know exactly what magazine you are talking about! I however am the opposite, I always wanted purples for my wedding. By the time planning came around I had chosen a turquoise/teal and chocolate brown. I did doubt that I chose the wrong colors in the beginning because I always wanted something else but Im so glad I picked different colors - once everything came together it lookd amazing. I guess once I started planning though the blue/brown really was my first instinct :)
Haha. I haven't had that, yet! Thankfully I am going with my third choice-burgundy and gold. No stress here! = )
@ His barista: we're going with burgundy and gold, too! We also have tons of ivory/creme and lace and elements of a sage green and slate blue (because we have an antique map theme and blue/green/and burgundy seem common on those). What color are your BM dresses?
I did the same thing. In the end I picked my first choice. Funny how we do that.
Oh goodness! Colors will no doubt be my biggest stress! Since we're still debating between Winter and Summer, I don't even have anything to look at other than color chip books from the paint department.

Last summer, when my fiance and I first started talking about getting married, I saw a cover of one of the bridal magazines that showed a bride with hot pink shoes and a hot pink bouquet. So that's what I wanted to do. Have hot pink as a main color and maybe wear hot pink shoes.
Once we got engaged and I started looking at every wedding website known to man, I got so overwhelmed. First I wanted pink. Then it pink and yellow. Then I wanted blue and yellow. Then I wanted pinks and champagnes (a la Miss Lab and Miss Cowboy Boot). And for a brief crazy moment lavender and green until I remembered my wedding is in September. My flower girls ended up with pink dresses. So then I was trying to build my color scheme around them. So I tossed around the idea of the MOH wearing black (she still is) and having multicolored bouquets. My mind was all over the place.
What have I ended up with? What I originally envisioned from the beginning. Pinks, with splashes of yellows and oranges. Most of the flowers will be hot pink. I will be carrying Gerbera daisies, like I wanted from the beginning.
So the moral of the story girls, save your self stress (and everyone else!) and go with your first instincts.
