- Wedding: May 2008
Last Christmas, we were planning our summer holiday and while looking at the resort, we saw these amazing pictures of weddings that had been held there. Seriously, it was incredible! So Darling Husband suggested that we renew our vows while we’re there, since it’s around our 5th year wedding anniversary. I agreed at the time because he was so excited about it, and we invited about 15 family members and close friends, but now that we’re finalizing details of the day I’m completely regretting it. I hate being the center of attention in a vunerable moment, and I barely got through our wedding. Darling Husband wants the whole enchilada and to basically recreate our wedding with the father/daughter and mother/son dance, garter toss, etc. I know it’s sweet that he loved our wedding day so much that he’s happy to do it all over again, and I don’t want to rain on his parade since it’s rare for him to show his emotions like this….but I was kinda hoping for just a quick walk up the aisle, a few words and then everyone just eat or dance? I’m more looking forward to just having the closest people with me on holiday and I’m starting to dread the actual vow renewal. Should I just tell him I don’t want any of the things he wants for the day, or just suck it and go through with it even though I’ll probably hate it?
