Can I just rave for a minute here? This is such an awesome tool! I don’t their meal plans, I just upload my own stuff and keep within their calorie/carb/fat/protein guidelines. But it has worked so well for me! I had tapered off on my weight loss for the last month and a half or so, but in the week and a half I’ve been doing spark people I lost 4 lbs. Plus, I found out that I was WAY under on the protein and fat that I ought to be having. Since I’ve been actively working to get those numbers up, not only am I losing weight, but I feel like I have way more energy. This “diet” has given me far more freedom of choice than any other diet I’ve ever tried, and I’m seeing results faster and feel better than when I wasn’t using it…
Anyway, my FI thinks it’s silly because he says I don’t need to lose weight, but I think even when I’m at my goal weight, I’m still going to use this system to keep track of my nutrients. Eating everything in balance like this just makes me feel great. Plus I love being able to map out my running routes and get an exact mileage. Way easier than trying to drive them and track the odometer on the car! 🙂

Great job! It feels great on your body to be eating healthy things instead of just junk! I have never tried sparkpeople personally though.

That was the crazy thing though, I didn’t feel like I was eating junk. I just didn’t ever sit down and analyze my diet before. If I had, I would have realized that all I ever ate was bread, pasta, and potatoes lol. When I saw it all written down, it was like “duh!” but I honestly never thought about it before. Now that I’ve thrown in more meat, veggies, and fruits, I feel great!

I really like sparkpeople as well, I don’t use it as consistently as you. but I really love their recipes, they’re really good and they are very healthy too. I can enjoy all our favorite recipes without worrying about the calorie content.
It’s also fun to check in to track my weight loss and how many inches I’ve lost. That’s pretty cool too! I joined the groups, Brides of 2010 and that’s cool to connect with other girls trying to lose weight for their big day too.
Oh, and my fi is like yours too, he says I don’t really have to lose weight – and technically I don’t – I’m not over weight, but I feel so much better at my ideal weight, physically, mentally and physically. I have more energy and I’m more happy overall 🙂

Yes, I love it too. I use the meal plans because I choose bad things when left to my own devices. I love the iphone app!
