Sorry, quick rant. Decided to tackle my first Wedding DIY this weekend – thought that table numbers should be quick and easy, especially since I knew exactly what I wanted. Not so much. I just spent six hours making them, and I still have to paint the frames black.
They’ll look great, but seriously, I just spent more time on a not very noticeable detail than people will spend at my reception enjoying them.
I give you the mock up because I do not have the energy to take a photo of the (almost) finished product at 3 am.
Did you spent more time on a DIY project than planned? Was it worth it?

ooh! I like those! Post the actual when you have the energy!
I spent a lot of time on my table numbers too, I had to paint the frames and then treat them, so it took a couple of weeks to do. But I think all of my DIY is worth it! I am so proud of the way everything turned out. I can’t wait for everyone to oooh and aaah at the wedding!

Our wedding is very small; only 2 or 3 tables, so I probably won’t be making table numbers, but I do have some started just in case. I know what you mean about time spent though. I have been DIYing my hiney off with a bunch of other projects for the wedding. A lot of them are small details, but even though they are small, I am sure they will get noticed and yours will too. Just make sure you give instructions to your photographer to take pictures of each project that you do, so you can put them in a scrapbook or photo album after your wedding.
Whatever you do, it will be worth it in the end. You will be able to say “oh wow”, I made that and it looks really nice. Other people may or may not say anything, but they will notice and they will be proud of you 🙂
