I’ve been engaged since Feb. we signed our venue contract an exact month from the day we got engaged and set our date for May of next year. I know that I have plenty of time but I just want to try on dresses lol!
I am the only girl of my family so I’m waiting to try on dresses when I visit my family to go with my mom in May. Then hopefully purchasing in June when my parents come to visit to see the venue and potentially have a tasting.
It’s just such a big part of the day that I want to have in done and decided quickly. Plus I want to know if the 70+ dresses I’ve pinned of all pretty much the same style will actually work on my figure.
Don’t need advice just wanted to get this out there 🙂 I’m excited to go shopping with my mom but I’m just being impatient lol

Do it! I have been to 3 dress shops already, just because it’s fun and I wanted to see what is out there. I even went by myself to one, which was nice. I will purchase when my mom comes to visit in a few weeks.
You only get one opportunity in your life to go in and try on on all the pretty dresses… I say make the most of it!

Yeah, I’d do it! I started trying them on when I was like 15 months out (loooooong engagement, lol). 😀

I would just do it. I just ordered my dress on 3/15, and my wedding isn’t until next December, 2015. I had so much fun!

Just do it. I wanted 10 months to try on dresses (out of a 2 year engagement) and I wished that I had just done it sooner. I kept bookmarking more and more dresses during those 10 months and I was getting so confused about what I wanted. Go to a local shop wtih a friend and try out some different sillouhettes. It can help you focus more before going shopping with your family 🙂

Do it when you are ready. Its your day and your dress. And really, you dont have a ton of time. Most dresses have to be ordered 6 months in advance. So really leaves you 8 months 🙂

linsical: I would not wait too long if I were you. I got engaged last April and bought my gown mid-June. They only finished making it in February 2014!!!! If I had waited any longer I probably would have been screwed.

I am also getting married in May next year. I started looking at dresses in October and last friday I went with my best friend and fiancee and tried some dresses. I can say that I really loved looking at dresses but after a while I just wanted to find one and so I did. It was something completely different from what I thought that I wanted so my tip is to try lots of different shapes!

racingbride2015: Yepp I’m defintiely going to try a bunch of different shapes which is what I’m excited about even though I have an idea of what I think I want. But i’m defintiely open to whatever makes me feel beautiful 🙂
Thanks everyone for the push lol I’ll see if I can grab a friend and just start!
