I’ve been feeling an eensy bit stressed and stir crazy because our caterer’s restaurant is under water, our venue is flooded, I haven’t heard from our rental guy, and our wedding night hotel is closed for the foreseeable future due to the 19 feet of water floating through the lobby–stir crazy because the school I work for is closed, I live downtown which is still waiting for water to recede, and we’re not supposed to use water for anything except drinking and essential cooking, so I feel guilty showering. So. Today, I said–no more. And I went to Michael’s to get a few things we’re missing for the reception decor. And there…I went a little nuts. I LOVE everything I bought and I’m super excited about all my projects.
Our reception is art themed, our centerpieces are pieces of art, etc…so I decided to get an easel and canvas to put our table assignments on. And, both were on sale! Vases were on sale! I needed floral supplies for the bouquets I’m going to make, and THOSE were on sale. I got awesome frames so that I can put photos of us on the table by the entrance to the cocktail hour. And I got a ton more, too. Anyone else having a great, productive day? Any projects you’re really excited about?

YAY! Glad you got out of your funk! (Literally, that water is starting to stink)
Do we get to see centerpiece mock-ups? Pretty please?

That all sounds great! I have definitely had moments like these, but it is good you got everything taken care of, so I’d say in this case it was good to go nuts! 😛

awesome! way to make the best of a bad situation! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that everything is dry and sanitized by the time your wedding rolls around 🙂

Oh my gosh.. I think I’d be freaking out if I were you right now! I was sooo saddened to see the inside of the Grand Ole Opry…

@helenberrycrunch – Mockups are forthcoming! I’ve got one more week of work and then it’s crunch time–I’ll be back with pictures!
Thanks everyone! Nashville is working hard to come back, and we’re going out on cleanup crews after work every day–it’s a bit heartwrenching, but also a relief to see everyone working together. And I’m only waiting on one more vendor to get back to me–he’s been silent and he’s making me a bit nervous, but I’m trying not to dwell. Everyone else is either fine, or planning to be fine by the time my wedding rolls around. And my shopping spree was an awesome stress reliever!
