So I ordered my dress a few weeks ago...Posted pics here, got lovely compliments and encouragements...It is a beautiful dress, but it was a trumpet and I had always envisioned myself in a ballgown. Everyone kept telling me I have the perfect figure for a trumpet/mermaid and I tried to convince myself that it's the right choice if so many people think so. Plus it was a designer dress, had lovely details, so I must be crazy not to love it. I tried to chalk it up to normal bridal anxiety....But I still found myself looking online at more dresses everyday. I told myself, "it's just to reassure myself there's nothing better out there". And today I did the big NO-NO and wandered into a discount bridal store. "Just for giggles" I told myself, "it's not like I'll find anything here among these huge samples for my size 2 body". And I tried on a Vera Wang sample. We took some photos, I came home, looked at the photos...And even at four sizes too big, I love it! And to boot it's $1500 less than what I paid for my original dress! Maybe I'm not seeing things right because I'm so stuck on the ballgown look. I'm wondering if I should buy this and try to sell my other one? I don't know, I'm so confused...:(

Here's the original and the "temptress".

I think you look amazing in both, but I prefer the ball gown. Sorry if I confuse things even more for you.

They're both gorgeous, but I agree that I prefer the ballgown. Go with what you will feel best in!!

Sorry I posted some wrong pics in the first post, didnt mean to put four of the same dress. I don't know how to delete attachements once they're posted. Good thing I didn't accidentally attach a naked pic of myself or something (not that I have any) in my flustered state because I can't delete them!

the first one, trumpet, hands down for me, I think its amazing on you, isn't that lazaro?  I'm probably biased b/c I'm wearing a lazaro too but I really think the trumpet looks better on you

I am biased in that I'm really not a huge fan of the trumpet silhouette. With that said, the gown you already have shows off your booty better :) And really, you have a good enough body that you can easily rock either look. What it boils down to is which one makes you feel more like a bride? You've already bought the trumpet gown, so clearly it worked for you when it was purchased. Is the ball gown so much better that it's worth taking the financial hit of trying to sell the first gown? If so, then sell it. And find a *fabulous* ball gown to wear!

I prefer the ballgown on you as well. The both are beautiful dresses but the second dress has that extra "something" that I can't describe.

I think you look amazing in the trumpet/mermaid dress.  Not everyone can pull it off...but you definitely can.

You look beautiful in both dresses, but I like the trumpet one much better.  The skirt on the ballgown is a little plain, and I am not a huge fan of the lace ruffle/layer/thingie where it connects to the bodice.

Um no fair, your body is amazing and you look gorgeous in both.. and um I LOVE LAZARO!! lol all kidding aside, you look amazing in both dresses.  if you've always dreamed of wearing a ball gown, definitely follow your dream!! could you wear the other one for the reception?

you DO look better in the trumpet dress.  and i like the neckline of that much better.  no offense to vera wang since i love her gowns but that dress looks incomplete compared to the first dress.  =)

I think you look better in the trumpet dress.  That being said, you ulimately have to make the decision - if you are happier with the ball gown then go for it!

When I first saw you in the trumpet gown without reading your post, I was like WOW, that looks so awesome on you. But after reading your post, I can see your dilemma.  Without sound creepy or anything, you have an awesome figure and any dress would look great on you. Both dresses are gorgeous and you carry them both gorgeously.

I think in this case you, you should wear what you want to wear.. I personally prefer the ballgown. :/

I think the trumpet dress looks perfect on you but if you can afford it and would regret not having it get the ball gown. Good luck :)

Wow, I didn't put a poll but so far looks like 16 to 4 for the trumpet. How come I like myself so much better in the ballgown, even though I agree it's a more plain dress? This must be one of those cases where I yell at my TV watching Say Yes To the Dress, "nooo, you picked the wrong one, the other one looked so much better, what are you thinking?!" :)

Something about the fact that a ballgown shows my waist but hides my hips is so comforting, no chance of any bad angle photos that'll have me lamenting for the next 30 years that my butt looked too big in my wedding dress.

On the other hand, it's great that so many people like the trumpet because if I  do get a second dress I will need to sell that one :D

The trumpet looks the best on you at least in pictures. But if you are wearing a dress that you don't love you won't show it as well so buy the dress you love the most, you only get married once

I like the ball gown better. The trumpet does look amazing on you and you have the body for it. But I feel like the bottom washes you out. The ball gown is flattering and has smooth lines and it beautiful.
