What about doing a program fan but doing them in a different style?
But seriously, nobody will know :) That's the beauty of weddings, they're all different!
Alternate program fan:
If I were you I wouldnt be upset. If your wedding and this other wedding shared A LOT of the same guest I might be upset but since its just your alls parents and a grooms man, I wouldnt worry. They are part of your weeding planning most likely anyway and I assume would know what is going on in your weeding. These people are people that are close people that are apart of your wedding and not the pepole you are aiming to wow! If you dont share any other guests Id say go with it and any other planning. I would just make sure the dress is different....lol, that would be bad no matter what. Good luck!
Program fans are very common for outdoor weddings in the South. In fact, I haven't been to one that didn't have them. No one is going to think you stole the idea from her because I'm sure people are used to seeing them!
Yes, it seems really upsetting, but just take a step back, breathe, and realize that that detail is the least of your guests' interest. I guarantee you that no one will even think that your fan is just like the other bride's fan.

I don't get why you are upset-she didn't steal your idea or anything.Program fans are in every DIY tutorial imaginable. i went to two weddings in a row that had program fans, and mashed potato bars. And I mean this in the nicest way possible, but most of the guests are going to forget about the program fans as soon as the wedding is over... and yours will probably look totally different from the other brides'. I really wouldn't worry about it so much-if you love them have them!
Thank you all! I realized it was just a moment of bridal insanity and that its really not that big of a deal! Yall are right that most people will probably pick it up and say cute and be happy to fan themselves and then forget about it or throw it away!
Program fans are definitely pretty common. I wouldn't see them at your wedding and think you copied off of someone else.

too bad there arent program space heaters for my pacific nw march wedding....
@vistagirl - you could get those hand warmers that you can buy at 711 and then put them inside the programs!!! now THAT would be a DIY project!!!

I know Im being absolutely ridiculous but I just found out something that irritated me. Months ago I was looking in a wedding magazine and saw a picture of a program fan from etsy. We are going to be getting married in August in Georgia so it will be HOT. I thought that this would be perfect for us and for our guests!! Then Im talking to FI last night and he tells me that the bride in the wedding we are going to in march is doing program fans. I got upset and I was thinking "great, now people will think that I got the idea from her" He kept telling me how ridiculous I was being and I KNOW that I am, but now I just feel like I want to wait until after her wedding before making any other decisions because I really dont want it to have creative/unique elements that arent all my own. The only people that will be at both theirs and our wedding are: grooms parents, FI parents, us, and FIs best man. Im just really irritated please tell me others have gone through something similar!!!
