- Wedding: September 2013
My mother in law booked a cello and violin player for our wedding that is 5 months away. She booked it and then asked if it was ok and once we said “sure” she said it was already booked. She is paying for it.
My frustration is my mother in law lives in her own world. My Fiance just finished school in an extremely demanding program (we live together and I barely saw him, maybe 15 minutes a day for the last 2 years). He is in the medical field so spent alot of time at hospitals and worked nights so I would be at work and he would be home sleeping and then we saw eachother as I got home and he left.
Anyways, she never comprehended how busy he was. Now that he is done school and in the middle of applications he is just as busy, if not more and I am still doing all the wedding stuff (fine by me). Well she emails us and says she has set up a time to meet the musicians…without consulting us…just set it up. Well it didn’t work for us and we told her that and asked her to sit on it. She then comes back and by “sitting on it” she rescheduled for 3 days later. We replied saying thanks for doing it but we are just too busy at the moment and don’t even know what songs we want so can we sit on this for a month or two.
The musicians are booked this is for song selection and we are 4.5 months out and this is so not on our radar.
I know she meant well…but I am just so frustrated with her and everyone else’s little inputs on the wedding. We let her have it, its not for us and now she’s in la-la land.
Anyways, that’s just a vent.
