I'm glad you're weren't more seriously hurt!!! FI won't drive if everyone doesn't have a seatbelt on. Also, I'm glad your cake was good! lol.
Ouch! I hope you are feeling okay! You should probably see a doctor to rule out a concussion and you probably have whiplash too. Car accidents are the worst!
It's physically impossible for me to start my car without putting on my seltbelt. I close the door, put my seatbelt on, start the car. If I try to do it out of order, my arm basically refuses :) I also have a really difficult time wearing a seatbelt in the back seat, it just feels weird,
I think it's from when I was a kid (in the 80s), my parents had the rule that you could only sit in the front seat of the car if you wore your seatbelt. So, if I hopped into the front seat before my brother and didn't put the seatbelt on, I ran the risk of him pointing out my lack of a seatbelt and getting the front seat for himself.
(looking very sheepish) @Daisybride... the car was beeping at me continuously to put my seat belt on but i thought "oh its only thru the carpark and up the drive"...... stupid i say, stupid
oh no! i'm so sorry. i hope it's just some minor pain and nothing else. good luck making an appointment, i hope they can fit you in soon.
my dad's family was pretty much destroyed when he was young because no one wore the 'optional' seatbelt in the '60's and his mother was killed, his father critically injured (and stayed that way for the rest of his life, in addition to living the rest of his life with serious depression, and as a near hermit), and his sister was sent to live with an aunt while my dad lived out the rest of his childhood with various family members and an aloof father. so i always knew the dangers of not wearing seat belts, to be sure!
cars are basically giant weapons.

grrrr - considering only 6 weeks ago i was involved in a car accident you would think i would know better but today i got to my office, got out of my car, unlocked the doors, turned off the alarm and got back into my car to drive around to the rear carpark that i prefer to park in (anything to get some extra walking & exercise in right) and i didnt put my seatbelt on so i was driving thru the front carpark a dammed cat ran in front of me, i slammed on the breaks and my head basically came into contact with the front of the car/sun visor and now my neck is driving me crazy achy and im trying to get an appointment with my massuse or chiro - whichever can see me first
grrrrr - stupid stupid stupid - always wear your seatbelt!
on the plus side, the cake i baked for my office (love my new kitchenaid mixer!) that was sitting in the rear was undamaged and still yummy im told
