We had this trouble with a lot of cake toppers.  I have brown hair and my husband has blonde.  Its really hard to find that combo.  We ended up just going for something that didn’t have color so it didn’t matter.

If it was cheap I would say try to paint it.  There is a good chance it may not turn out great though so you wouldn’t want to ruin it if it were expensive.  Talk to someone about what the best type of paint will be.  Also, if there is any type of finish on the rest of the piece then you will also have to apply that to make it look even.

I would try painting it too.

Or you could have one made!  We found “Magic Mud” online, a family-run business in TO and they make cake toppers to reflect the couple – they get you to send a picture, so they know what colour hair, etc. They make the dress the same style as what you’re wearing (not really detailed, but eg. if you have an A-line or a trumpet), and they can include whatever you want… ours has little things about our jobs and hobbies, and a Vancouver Canucks logo in front of me and Montreal Canadiens in front of him, because we’re huge hockey fans but do NOT cheer for the same team 🙂

They’re more expensive than most cake toppers obviously, but we’ll keep it forever and thought it was worth the money (they range, I think from $200-$400).

Their website is http://www.magicmud.com … we haven’t received ours yet (should be here this week!), but all the ones I’ve seen give me high hopes 🙂

Not sure if people are going to notice but you could have it painted.  I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
