The governer’s on TV talking about extending the state of emergency until Suday, which probably means that I’ll be stuck at home again tomorrow. Our kids are missing yet another WEEK of school, and we’re going to have to reschedule so much stuff… It’s awful. I’m also worried about not getting to see my FI for V-Day tomorrow depending on the state of the roads (I live west of Atl, and he lives in Duluth).
I’m really glad no one was stranded this time, but we have so many people out of power in the state… I just want it to be warm again! Which apparently it will be next week, when it hits 70, but will that last?

Mother Nature be cray-zay. I’m ready for spring!

I hear you! I’m a student teacher, and I’m missing out on so much stuff – and having to cram my already-intense list of requirements into a lot fewer days! This weather is absolutely ridiculous. The county I’m in has a break next week too, so kids could potentially be out of school for basically two straight weeks. It’s unreal.

@mepayne: I’m surprised your county hasn’t just decided to go next week to make up for this one. We don’t go to school on Mondays, so we’re thinking that we’ll have to start going on Mondays every other week to make up the days… If we have to make them up, because we’re still not sure whether a state of emergency means we won’t have to make up the days.
@DaneLady: Me too! I’ll take t-storms and hail over this crap any day!

@Nostawyn: It’s apparently too late to cancel the break next week, though Spring Break is definitely in jeapordy. I think they’re also still waiting to hear if we have to make up the days or not. I’m sure the higher-ups don’t want to sacrifice their break for no reason.

@mepayne: Yeah. We’re kind of between a rock and a hard place as making up the days go… It’ll hurt the budget if we have to make it up, and it’ll cut into ‘vacation’ time. But it hurts the kids if we don’t make it up.
@CarpefnDiem: Oh yeah. Spring is my favorite season anyway, but now I’m desperate for it!

Yep, I’m in NC and we just moved from NY to get away from this kind of crappy weather. I am SO OVER IT. I’ve missed two days of work and since it’s still snowing right now, Friday is looking iffy as well. Ugh.
