I was trying on my dress in front of my mom for the first time at her place. I put on my shoes, tied up the back, slipped into the pettycoat and there. Done.
Right about that point me nephew (who is 3) walks in and says “why are you so tall?” and “why are you dressed like that?” I said it’s for a big party and he can help me by holding the train as I enter the church. He said “you are too tall. Like a monster” and calmly went his way.
I take no offense and I know he is a kid. In fact, I love the darn thing he said and it will likely be a memory forever. Kids, they do say the darnest things.

This post wasn’t at all what I thought it would be. And I’m so glad it wasn’t! Thanks for making me smile!

I love kids, and I’m often thankful they don’t have a filter.
Im glad you werent offended. Maybe a jump out and scare complete with loud growling is in order!

Don’t you just love the things that come out of their little mouths. About a month ago me and a friend were sitting around my house talking wedding(shocking) and my daughter wanted something from me and was’nt being very paient and spouts “mom, no persons want to go to the boring wedding”. She’s four. Gotta love her.

So cute – I laughed out loud and told my DH!

I am 56 and took my niece bra shopping when she was about fourteen. We were both trying on at the same time and she said “Aunt Pam, your boobs look like jello.”

@Pamelor55: Haha I went shopping with my grandma once when I was about 8 and told the sales lady that she needed a bra for her “long boobs”!

hahahaha loved the story. thank you for that. I did ask my nephew (he’s 10 now) for opinions on dresses. I felt he’d be the one to give me the most honest opinion… only problem was: i showed him the 2 pictures first and he picked one. two days later I decided to test him by showing the same pictures again to see if he was still a kid (i.e. being honest), or if he was already turning into a ‘ little man’ (i.e. not really paying attention). sadly turns out he’s turning into a little man bc he didn’t realise it was the same set of pics and this time chose the other dress! hahaha
