I was talking to my neighbour today and told her our baby news. She said she knew I was pregnant since a few weeks ago because I “look pregnant in the face”. What does that even mean? lol Ever since I talked to her I’m feeling self conscious about the fact that my face must be getting fat. Has anyone else been told they have a pregnant looking face? I would have questioned my neighbour about what she meant but to be honest I was kind of afraid of her answer. She’s an older lady and very honest about these types of things!!!

Never heard that one before! One of my coworkers is 3 months pregnant, but she already looks about 5-6 months along in the belly (this is her 3rd baby and I hear you get bigger faster after you’ve had a few?) I havent noticed a difference with her face at all.

@As_You_Wish: Maybe they meant that you’re glowing?

I would take it as you are glowing. 🙂

Some women definitely get fat in the face while they’re pregnant, but I’m sure YOU would have noticed that about yourself if it were happening!! So I agree that she just must have meant you were glowing and smiling and all that good stuff 🙂

Back in January, I was asked if I was pregnant b/c my face was glowing. I was not even trying, but had started going to the gym in the am and my face would stay flushed for a couple hrs!
Now I am pregnant and my cheeks have been pink since 10DPO. I’m really hoping it goes away b/c I just know people at work will figure it out too soon! Hopefully, I’ll be able to disguise it as “sunburn” for a little while.

Another vote for her saying that you’re glowing or because look so happy. It’s so weird but some people seem to really be able to tell!

@As_You_Wish: LOL! God people say stupid things to pregnant women.
If it makes you feel any better my FIL said to me last weekend “You’ve really put on weight, in your face, in your arms, in your legs…” and when we all looked him horrified he just said “Well you’re pregnant! You’re supposed to do that”….. *eye roll*
Made me so self consious after that. I really thought look good, most other people comment on how tiny I am! People just trip over themselves when knowing what to say I think.

Thanks ladies…you’ve made me feel a bit better. It MUST be that I’m glowing because I swear I look in the mirror several times a day and I haven’t noticed my face getting fatter. lol
@Sunshine09: lol…oh dear @ your FIL’s comment. You’re right though, I think people just don’t know what to say so they end up saying silly things. I’m sure I will have more ridiculous comments to look foward to as the weeks go on! lol

i would totally intepret is as a fat face and then realise she meant that i was glowing hahaha
i always thought the pregnant glow wasn’t necessarily rosy cheeks but a radiance/new found beauty. then i got pregnant, and realised either its not that or it hasnt happened to me hahaha

People say the craziest things! Especially older ladies it seems.

@As_You_Wish: Yup! Most of the time you can tell by the womans face first. Very early on.

I was told the same by my husbands bosses wife when I was bringing him lunch. She is older and definantely meant it as a compliment as in I was glowing! she knew the day after we tested! she is just trying to tell you you’re beautiful! 😉

@As_You_Wish: Yes you were probably glowing but haven’t you ever watched knocked up? When her mom says at 3months she was showing. “Fat face, jawls, fat ass” lol. This actually happens to my fsil, fiance knew shr was pregnant before she announced because her face was chubby. You obviously can look in the mirror and see nothings changed, I wouldn’t let it bothef you.

Lol people could definately tell by my face because i normally have really clear skin, and now BAM brutal acne! people do say rude things forsure!!! i hate it already. and i feel like people think its a competition about who knew first. everyone you tell was like, oh i totally knew….. (for this reason-thats generally offensive)! Some people just dont have a filter.
